Sansa fuze radio will not work red speaker showing

This is the second player in two weeks everything works other than the radio. It was working fine then just stoped and now shows a red speaker.

My Fuze radio when I first opened it, but the next day it stopped working.

I have the same problem. I do know that pressing the >|| (pause/play) button will make the red speaker go away (I think it's muted), but my radio will not work consistently even when the red speaker isn't showing. Help!

Shrbear, I tried your solution while my Fuze was turned on and in radio mode, and seemingly magically the radio started playing again right away. Thank you a million times over for posting this solution.....I had been without my radio for months and had wrongly assumed it was broken (funny, I had never noticed the red speaker before, which is an indication of mute ...... probably never noticed it because the volume indicator would move when I would turn the thumbwheel). Thanks again.

There is an easier and more direct solution:
Simply hit the play/pause button while in radio mode. Apparently the play/pause button acts as a mute/unmute button while in Radio mode.

I had the same problem and I found a solution. Turn your mp3 player off and place it face down on a hard surface. place down on the back of the mp3 where the function buttons are and press down firmly. I believe this unlocks the radio. Turn the mp3 player back on and go to the radio. The volume should work now.

My sansa fuze keeps freezing

Start the sansa updater, set sansa to recovery mode plug into computer. unplug when told sansa should restart (Lock sansa press and hold rec and menu until recovery begins)

Also you can Try
Reset All
NOTE: THIS IS AN ADVANCED OPERATION AND RESTORES ALL SETTINGS
TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS. NORMAL USERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION!
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.....

Hold the power button up for ten seconds. The Fuze should turn off then you can just start it back up and everything should work fine!

My sandisk sansa fuze is freezing up is that normal?

Yes, it sounds like its faulty, even if its not, why take the chance when you can just return it. Depending on where you got it, you should be able to return it for a swap. Just make sure you have your receipt. Most places will require that you have it.
