STEP 1
Take whole fruits or vegetables from home onto an airplane in either your carry-on bag or in your packed luggage. STEP 2
Pack liquid or gel-based fruits or vegetables in your baggage. This includes salsa, cranberry sauce, applesauce, fruit jams, salad dressings and dips that contain vegetables and soups. Small amounts of these foods, measuring no more than 3.4 oz., may be tucked into a zip-top plastic bag and placed in a carry-on bag, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
STEP 3
Buy an apple, package of baby carrots or other fruit or vegetables to snack on during your flight, after you have already passed through security at the airport. These foods have already gone through the screening process and will not be the subject of time-consuming searching and questioning by security...
