SOURCE: Cannot sight in riflescope for elevation, adjustment is maxed out

Try reversing the rings. Move the back one to the front, and the front one to the back. Turn your elevation adjustment, back to -0-, and start again.

You will have to shim the scope, use a piece of 35 mm film, It works good, 2 if you need it, if you at extreme measures, you will have to shim the base. You can look through the barrel of a bolt action rifle and see what you will hit at 100 yards, just prop up the rifle in a box or a vise, site down the bore at a target, mailbox, streetlight, then bring the scope to that point, check your barrel again. This will put you on paper at 100 yards. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: scope needs rise about 4

this is all down to the scope/mounts,,,,to bring the bullet drop higher if the scope has reached its limit all you can do now is,,,
cut 3 bits of 35mm camera film to fit under the eye end of the scope,,,,undo the scope cap (eye end) and slip in the film under the scope so its pinched between the noun and the botom of the scope,,this will raiz the point of aim by at least 5 inches at 100 yds

How to remove/replace the recoil pad from a Remington 700 CDL refile?

There are two slits in the pad over the two mounting screws. Most are phillips head screws so put a dab of grease on the screwdriver and simply take it off.

Remington rifle 700 series ser#B6311286 prefiring while on safety

"pre-firing" makes no sense and by design the Rem. 700 cannot fire while ON safe, but it can fire as the safety is removed.
Call Remington. They know about the problem.
