Dictaphone intermittently shuts off while recording.

The power jack sometimes comes loose on this model. With the power on, wiggle the jack. If it powers off, then it needs to be resoldered. Service can be done by dictationmall if needed.

Random shut downs and freezes can be caused by many things. Make sure to check that your computer is well ventilated, check all the openings and fan areas for dust build up, open the side of the case and check for blockages, dust etc. Also unplug any accessories such as external hard drives, gaming devices, printers, etc. and try to start up the computer. Try booting into "safe mode" (a google search will help find out how to do this) and see if the issues continue. This will help further diagnose the issue if the problem persists.

When you say "it will not shut down", are you referring to clicking on start and then shut down?
