Hi!
Try get open the cover of the PC. Look for the memory card near the processor. Check the leads and clean it by erasing the dirt using the eraser. Try to check also the battery. If you have eraser clean it with an eraser. hen turn on your PC.
First suspect is heat on the CPU. Modern motherboards have a thermal sensor that shuts down the system when it reached a certain temperature. The system, no matter what it was doing, 'clicks' and begins to restart.
Look at the internal fan sitting over the CPU. It may be clogged with dust, especially since this is an older system. It is not a comment on the cleanness of the house, all systems get this buildup. You will probably have to remove the fan and clean the heatsink, and if so you should change the thermal paste on the CPU as well. Over time it may have gotten heated and lost some of its ability to transfer heat from the CPU to the heatsink.
There are other possibilities, including a damaged CPU, but this is the most common and easiest solution to check first. Please post comments on your progess and results.
