Sergers are pretty complicated and have to be timed precisely. If I were you, I would take in and have it fixed and serviced at the same time.

I have a baby lock Elizabeth. When quilting with the feed dogs down, the fabric gets caught and shortens the stitches real small. What can I do to fix this?

Are you using the "Quilting foot"?
Stitch setting on stitch #3 and lengthen the stitch a bit that should help tons.

Baby lock BL4-736d the feed dogs will not move forward

Make sure the stitch length is set long enough to actually advance the fabric. If set too short, the fabric movement will be very minimal. Also check that the presser foot pressure adjustment is set for the type of fabric you are sewing. The adjustment can be made for light- or heavy-weight fabric. If the presser foot pressure is too tight or too loose, it will have difficulty pulling the fabric.

I have a baby lock pro line BL4-736 but the fabric does not walk. Could anyone help ?

  1. Tighten the Large Silver Presser Screw on the top of the machine about 2 full rotation turns to the right.
  2. If it already tightened down, loosen (turn to left), 2 full turns. Use a nickel to fit into the slot on the top of the presser Screw.
  3. Dull blades can cause fabric not to feed, just bunch up in front of the blades.

Thread tension on a Baby Lock BL90

I suggest changing both needles
and rethreading the machine
use a can of air that is used for computer keyboards on the inside
here's a link for parts to the machine and also has a manual
the manual should have information about the thread tension

Baby lock serger will not feed, fabric want come out from under presser foot.

what is the stitch length set to? should be 2.5 or thereabouts for normal serging.
Is the pressure foot pressure turned up too high perhaps?
The reasons I could think of for it not feeding through would be:
- the feed dogs under the pressure foot are out of position/not moving
- that the differential feed is turned up so its pushing the fabric back to the front of the machine
- stitch length is set very low so hardly moving the fabric at all
- or youv'e got a thread tangle happening around the foot/blade area.

I have forgotten the settings to set the differential feed on my babylock 5380E

The differntial feed is usually set on N. If you move the lever up, you gather. If you move it down, the fabric will lettuce. These things happen because there are two sets of feed dogs feeding at different rates.

Fabric will not feed when trying to sew, but embroidery works fine. I checked feed dog lever and it is in correct position.

Check pressure of the foot that contacts the top of the fabric. Lift the presser foot up and check there is resistance there

I have a baby lock imagine machine. I'm sewing with streatch velvet, and the stitches are off the fabric, or the loopers are too loose. I tried tighting the looper thread fine tuning screw, adjusting the...

Stretch fabric is made for using the differential feed on your machine, sergers love stretchy things. Try widening the stitch you are using and turn your differential feed down one notch to allow the machine to get a good grip on the fabric, you may need to bump the differential feed up more if it still doesn't stitch nice, keep trying on a piece of scrap fabric of the same as you are using until you are happy with the stitch.Another solution is to put some lightweight tissue paper under the seams and then tear it off after you have sewn the seams, this works but will dull your blades over time.
