Question about Samsung HP-T4254 42 in. Plasma Television

1 Answer

My 5 year old Samsung HP-T4254 is clicking on and off. Sometimes after unplugging it and re-plugging it later the picture will stay on a little while and then click off. I looked at the power supply and can't detect any blown or bad capacitors. Maybe a problem with the switch?

Hello,

Did you read the capacitor with a meter to detect that it's not actually the cause of the problem?

Also, there are other components on the power supply board such as diode, resistor, transistor etc. You actually need to use a meter to read all the components on the power supply board to be sure the power supply board is in good condition because basically it seems that's where the fault is coming from.

Have these checks done and let me know the outcome.

Bye for now.

Picture has gone pink and there is no sound - Samsung HP-T4254

It sounds like either the X-Main board or the Main Board has failed. I recommend calling 1-800-samsung to find the nearest service center to repair it. You can spend a lot of money replacing parts on a plasma before you find the defective part.

Tv is about 4 years old. Suddenly developed two

Your plasma screen is made up of 1080 verticle lines and now a few of these lines are not working. This is the screen itself and needs replacing.

Same as ericgustafso. My Samsung HP-T4254 42 in. Plasma TV randomly turns on and off. The short while it stays on, the picture and sound are perfect.

the capastor on the mains power board are on way out check them look for raised tops ( they look like little bateries with white line) if you are going to replace them yourself take picture so you put back same way

Vertical black line on Samsung HP-T4254

hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up .good luck hope it works

Samsung hp-t4254 plasma

Hi Rickpo:
After installing the $11 kit and the additional $13 kit recommended by (http://preher-tv.blogspot.com/2010/01/samsung-hpt4254-no-power-repaired.html) mostly surface mount diodes (also available on Ebay), the Samsung HP-T4254 came back on, but would only play for 4 minutes. I found DX801 flowing both directions, replaced it with a diode from Fry's. Works great, $26 total repair costs :-)
