Before you start ordering and swapping parts check with Samsung, that model is covered under the terms of the class action lawsuit settlement over bad power supply boards. The power supply boards cause the exact symptoms that you are having. They should repair the unit free of charge for parts and labor. The set is under a year old and is under warranty. The LVDS cable inside these sets have a history of coming loose. The problem could be the panel. Either way, the set is the problem and needs to be looked at. This set is worked on in the home and does not need to be taken to a shop, so, you can still use it. Contact Samsung at: 1-800-SAMSUNG Hope this helps.

Replacing the capacitors would be a good start. Replace all the ones with the same capacitance and voltage rating even if they do not look bulge.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

Hello taasmost9, This problem indicates an issue with the inverter which operates the backlight. It appears that your inverter is malfunctioning. If you have a background in electronics, it is possible for you to repair this yourself if not you will do more damage then good so I would like to suggest that if you do not have a background in electronics that you have a qualified TV technician work on and repair this problem. If you do have a background in electronics you will need to measure the voltages at the inverter and determine that power id present at the inverter's input and at the output to the backlight. You will need a schematic and a multimeter for this task. After finding the component you have a choice of replacing the component or replacing the entire inverter module (this is up to you depending on the cost of each procedure). I hope this helps, Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

had a very similar situation with my Phillips 42 in. LCD TV.
Here was my Problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened it up( Warranty was Expired) and found several faulty capacitors on the PSB. Its pretty common. Major Electronic companies were sold faulty capacitors that fail in 2-5 years instead of 10-20 due to a lack of preservatives. It wouldn't surprise me if you have the same problem. TV will work fine for a few years and then just fail completely or slowly deteriorate.
Here are the solutions
1. Have it Repaired
2. Check for faulty caps and if you find some(budged or leaking) you know you have located a problem
Remove the board and replace the whole thing.
3. If you have some soldering skills you can replace the faulty caps.
Caps are very inexpensive, under a dollar in most cases. I replaced 4 for about $5.00
Hope this Helps.

The 6V difference would matter depending on the location of the capacitor. If there is no voltage regulator circuit and if its in the circuit that goes into the main A/V board then I would thing that it has damaged if not fried some components into the A/V circuit. If you can get me a picture of the circuit where the caps are I can have a look and tell you if its due to that.
