Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop
My laptop internet connection was working perfectly fine. 3 days ago i lost internet connectivity. I repaired the connection, that didn't work so then i reentered the wifi password for the wireless connection I am using. It worked. Then about 10 minutes later I lost wireless connection. I tried repairing it and it will connect from time to time for a few minutes. As of right now it is no longer letting me use the internet. There is a red x over the wireless network connection and it will search for a connection but nothing will connect. When it is searching it says it has excellent connection, but then the red x will appear again. My boyfriend uses the same wireless connection on his laptop and it is working fine for him. I also connected to the wireless connection on my sprint hotspot and used the internet on there and it would connect. I have no idea what the issue is and I have a ton of homework and studying to do! Please help. I have not installed anything on my computer!
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

So u can connect to the router, but you arent allowet to access the internet?
The router gave your dell a new ip-number, but it dident gave you access to the net. You ned to do the settings in your router manual, let the router give your dell full access.

There is no switch on an Inspiron 2200. I would go to Dell's website and download the drivers for your model # and then uninstall the existing adapter. then try installing the new driver and let me know what happens.

Make sure you are connecting to your own internet connection through your wireless router and not on your neighbor's.....limited connectivity means you are out of reach or signal is blocked....

Sometimes when you boot up the wireless card does not get an IP address from the wireless router. If you have an wireless icon on the task bar with a red X on it then right click on this icon and click Repair, if not go to the Control Panel - Network Connections - right click on the wireless connection and Repair. This will force the wireless router to issue the wireless card with new IP address.
If this doesn't work check the Device Manager to see if the wireless card is enabled and functioning, if not reinstall the wireless driver and configure it to match the wireless router settings.
