I purchased Garmin1490t and it says "Cannot unlock maps" / 'No maps Found" Please help

If your Nüvi keep displaying the maps are locked, you will need to erase a file from the units memory. Connect your GPS system to your computer; go to start then 'My Computer', and double click on your device file (mass storage system), there you will see a folder named 'Garmin'.

In this folder are several different files, look for file named gmapsupp.img. Right hand click on this file and delete as this file is causing the maps to lock.

Other choice, could be one read at No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

Dvd door will not open

with the unit turned off press and hold "8", and then press "x" on the unit until "unlocked" appears on the screen.

This is from page 83 of the manual regarding tray lock feature.

My nuvi 265w displays no data available when trying to use the " WHERE TO " icon. any ideas on how to fix this issue? Thanks Joe

There's 3 possibilities;
1. The map is unselected (which is the most likely)
2. The map is locked or
3. The software is out of date and needs to be upgraded.

You'll find the solutions to 1 and 2 at http://www.fixya.com/support/r6197735-no_detailed_maps_found_support_routing. There's more information there than you'll need so to select the map if it's unselected go to paragraph 5.

If the map is locked start at paragraph 2.

If the software needs updating download and install WEBUPDATER from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27. to your computer.

Connect your satnav to your computer with the mini USB lead and run WEBUPDATER. It will check for updates and install them to your satnav.

I hope this solves your problem.

My JVC TH-G30 gives me a locked message when I try to open the load tray what should I do?

hello Setting the disc ejection lock
You can lock the disc tray to prevent the disc form
being ejected.
When the main unit is turned off, hold down the STOP
key at the front panel for 5 seconds
If you attempt to open the disc tray by pressing
OPEN/CLOSE key, the disc tray does not open and
“LOCKED” appears in the display window.
To cancel the disc ejection lock, hold down the STOP
key at the front panel for 5 seconds again when the
main unit is turned off.
“UNLOCKED” is displayed in the display window.
Note:
Before the main unit is turned off, DVD/CD function
should be selected.

Unit is locked

Take the 4 screws from the sides and the two in the top back of the unit. What has probably happened is that you have a cd laying on the bottom of the unit and the arm can not make the entire sweep. cdt
