The amplifier is connected battery power so it's always on. It should be connected to a power source that is controlled by the ignition switch, 1.e., hot in START or RUN

Some amps come with extra, power, rem, ground, so you can , power up another Amp Without runing to many wires. , or using a power block.like a parallel, being your 1st Amp your power block, and your remote, ground .

Stereo wiring on mk4 golf r32? Fitted new stereo bit radio isn't working I Need to know what colour wire to connect to the power supply for the amplified ariel?

12 volt accessory or same wire that goes to red wire on stereo or cigarette lighter.
OR
What is the current draw on amplified aerial ? or are you talking bout electric aerial(up and down automatically ?) If current draw is really low like 500 milliamp or so then hook her up to blue wire (remote output) on back of stereo but REMEMBER this is LOW current and only meant to switch on amps and raise electric aerials etc.If you think amp on aerial is too much for it then run the rem wire to a 12 volt relay and wire it so that when rem triggers and closes the gate will be connecting an accessory wire OR perm 12v wire to aerial power . That way aerial ONLY turns on(POWERS UP) when stereo is on as opposed to other way where aerial will be powered up every time car ign or acc is turned on regardless of whether the stereo is on or not.

The amp is not turning on but all tests show power to the amp. Ground is ok and power source going to the amp is ok. All fuses are ok. Does the remote wire need to be properly connected for the amp to...

You have to have a power source going to the remote wire, there's most likely a remote wire on the deck, which you can connect it to. You don't necessarily have to have it hooked up properly, I've seen people run a small wire from the rem to the postive on the amp, though it makes it all-time power which will drain your battery over-time, also I've seen my buddies blow amps from that, lol. Probably not the best choice.

The power cable and the rem cable need to have different power sources. The best thing to hook the rem. to is a power antenna wire, or if you don't have a power antenna, you'd need to hook it to the ign. or accessory wire.

I HAVE KAC-827 AMP THAT STILL WORKS BUT RED LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN CAR IS OFF WHICH MAKES AMP STAY WARM. FUSES ARE FINE. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM???

what is your REM terminal connected to on the amp? It should be connected to the blue wire on your head unit. If it is not, then that's your problem. It sounds like you may have it connected directly to the battery, which is keeping your amp on all the time. The REM is the turn on signal for your amp.

Amp shuts off when switched from radio to cd

your amps rem wire is hooked to the power antenna wire on your head unit and so when you turn off the radio you would nolonger need an antenna so it powers down and would lower the antenna.Depending on the head unit you should have one output for the power antenna and one for the amp rem......If your head unit doesn't have the rem output you can wire it to the switched wire that powers your head unit but keep in mind the amp will stay on while you have the key in acc or run position even if your head unit is off.
hope this helps!

Powers isnt turning on but everythings hooked up?

Check the fuses. If the fuse is bad the amp's power supply is burnt. If the red light stays red and never goes green then your amp is in protect mode and the output section is burnt. To test for rem. problem just use a jumper wire (paper clip... or whatever)to jump from +12v power to rem. If rem. wire has no voltage when your radio is turned on that will make your amp come on. then look for the fuse in the rem. line. Good luck !

What is the REM (remote I assume). The second hot wire other than the red is usually yellow. Is your REM wire yellow. Also, don't forget to put a fuse in the "positive" side of the circuit. Keever

hi. your amp has an internal power supply fault. problem lies in the remote turn on regulator circuit or with the pulse width modulating circuit.this fault definitely needs to be in technicians hands. cheers
