Dryer when start switch pressed no start but buzzes

I have found that the switch activated by the door close or turns on the interior light when open on is likely the problem. You may notice that if the door is open and you push the start button, it will buzz. So if the door is closed and you get this buzz when pushing the start button, there is a problem with the door switch. The start button "thinks" the door is open, and therefore not start. The defective door switch needs to be replaced. At least highly likely.

I have Hotpoint Ultimate Extra WD72 washer dryer and the start button has stopped working any idea if this is an expensive problem ??

When you close the front washer door, it closes a switch. This switch prevents the washer from operating when the door is open. Your problem is when you close the door, the switch does not go into the closed position. Now when you press the start button, nothing happens. It acts as if the door is in the open position, even though the door is closed. The door switch is defective and needs to be replaced with a new one. Some start buttons only momentarily close and use a relay type of switch to keep power going to the washer. If you have this type of start button, then the relay/switch could be defective. This is a separate part, it is not the start button switch. It is also possible that the start button switch is defective. So up to three parts need to be checked. None of these are expensive repairs.

On most dryers in the US, there is a removeable metal panel behind the top of the control panel that is fastened on with some screws. With the machine unplugged, take the metal panel off, and you will see the inside back of the start button. The start button switch is often held in place with 2 screws. Remove the knob on the front if you need to, and then change out the switch.
Remember, it is more likely the door switch is bad if it will not start than the start button. The door switch breaks much more often than the start switch.
Be blessed.

Lg2277hw - sometimes the start button works very easy on the 1st gentle push- other times I have to repeatedly push the start button - eventually it starts - sometimes it starts but then I get the de

If the door switch contacts have burnt out then the switch will never work and neither will the machine until the switch is replaced. If the door switch button is worn then it will need replacing. If when you switch the machine on and it does not start, try giving the door a "shove" or "gentle thump" in the door latch area. if the machine then starts it will no doubt need a new door switch. if it does not start then the main ON/OFF button or the door switch will need to be checked. Both these components take the full power of the machine as long as the machine is running so they are prone go faulty. Unless you are comptent with electronic components I can not explain how to do this for safety reasons.

Tw 200 starts with a push, but wont start off button.Battery OK seems like a fuel problem.please advise.

If it was fuel it would not start with a push.
I think you have a bad switch. Now you will need to have bike in Neutral. Remove button switch turn key or power switch on. Take a wire and jump a cross switch. If the bike starts replace the switch.

When i push the start button motor does not start

Ok, you have narrowed it down nicely and, this leads my to believe that you will need to replace the start button switch. this start button switch circuit board is damaged.

Faulty Start Button?

If the dryer doesn't even start to turn when you press the start button, then you have to look at a couple things; The start button itself, the starting relay or the safety circuit. You mentioned that there's a ticking sound... if this sound goes away when you open the dryer door but comes back again when the door is closed, then the safety circuit is working.

It could be the switch itself or the starting relay (if equipped with one). If you're mechanically capable, consider looking at the relay. See if the contacts are being pulled in when the start switch is pressed (DANGER: HIGH VOLTAGE). If it is, the start switch is OK.

Hope this helps.
