    Can you be more specific.

  • Mathias Nov 07, 2012

I'm trying to install more ram, but when I take out the battery, take out the security screw, the sliders for the battery won't go all the way to the side.. So its stuck. I'm afraid to use too much force.

Perhaps lightly push down on the cover near the slider/s, or lift up slightly.

  • Mathias Nov 08, 2012

That didn't work either.. I'm gonna call HP service center so hopefully they can help me. I work with computers at an electronics store so it kinda ****** me off a little bit that i can't even open a laptop :P I'll try to remember to post the solution here when i'm done tough.

The slide 'buttons' must be loose from the sliding mechanism, somehow, or the screw lock may be the culprit. Once screw is removed it isn't letting the slide mechanism move. Would appreciate hearing the outcome, thanks. Hopefully you don't get a pimple faced geek who is just going to read out of the manual, lol!

  • Mathias Nov 08, 2012

Haha, lets hope not. If the "sliders" were loose i probably wouldn't get the battery out either, and I stuck a knife in right above the screw and the panel did move. But thanks for trying to help!

I called them a few weeks ago on a wednesday and explained my problem, they seemed very helpful and said they were going to send someone to help me on either thursday or friday. I waited untill around the same time next week and they still had not come. I called them up and asked what was going on and they replied " They guy you talked to forgot to save the case. " So it wasn't in their system.. So i explained what was wrong once more, and they sent a guy later that week. He didn't know what was wrong so I had to explain it all once again.. Then he forces the panel to open with some tools, he scratched the surface and broke some plastic pieces on the panel, but he got it to open and put the RAM in and closed it and said that he had to order a new panel so he would be back the next day, but it took about a week and I could hear the plastic pieces he broke move around inside. And they sent a new guy so i had to explain it all over again..! When he opened the panel he broke it completly, then he found out that he had to change the whole frame inside the laptop, so he had to get a new one and come back the next day. He called early in the morning and we agreed when he was going to come, but he came 30 minutes earlyer than what we agreed.. but finnaly he had all the parts he needed and he fixed it and it worked exactly as it's suposed to! Later that day i tried to type something but qweruiop didn't work all the other keys worked fine but not those 8. I was leaving on a christmas vacation the next day, but i figured i'd just bring an old keyboard i had lying around and call them when I got home. But later the battery was running a bit low so i tried to put in the charger but the input was lined ut all wrong. I called them and complained, they said they would try to send a guy in the morning before we left, but he never showed up and still has not.. I left friday before christmas so i've been without a computer for quite some time now. I'm going to call them tomorrow and I'll get back to you when I'm done with this nonsense..!

  • Mathias Jan 08, 2013

The last time i called them, the call wasn't registated..

  • joecoolvette
    joecoolvette Jan 10, 2013

YOU.......................obviously must be of a professional capacity. I believe I would have lost it by now. (Of course that wouldn't solve a thing) Not one call has been registered. When the ticket is filled out, the 'rocket scientists' don't even put the problem. "Here Joe. Go put this panel on. Ought to take care of you for the DAY. Tomorrow it's replace Ram Memory for a lady over on 132nd street, and then a BLAZING game of tiddly-winks. Remember you're down by 5, and NO,...........I will not take the Ken doll as part of the winnings." It's people like you that helped form our world. People like me were probably gunfighters, back in the day. "What? No reference on the ticket, you don't know what has been going on, and you have to come back AGAIN? HERE, take this laptop you filthy animal, (Home Alone), and get yer lying, two-timing fleabag carcass outta my house." Kapow, Kapow..............WAIT! WHAT? 'ER, no.............I mean I would have handled the way you did. Lol! Appreciate you took the time to keep us up to date. Look forward to 'hearing' the outcome. Regards, joecoolvette

  • Mathias Jan 10, 2013

And guess what ... They were supposed to come to day but the guy with the new motherboard was sick! And he didn't even call me .. oh no! that's to much work, so i called him 30 minutes after he was supposed to be here. And believe me, I have lost it, many times it's just that I don't get as .. how should i put it .. enthusiastic as you when i write on the internet ;) Hopefully they'll come tomorrow but who knows what excuse they will have next. It's nice knowing that I have some support though, thanks!

1) Remove ALL power. Remove the AC adapter (Charger), and Battery.

2) Position laptop bottom side up, Battery Compartment facing you.

3) Remove the Locking Screw if installed.
(Area where Battery Compartment meets Bottom Door, and in the Middle; is screw location)

4) Slide the Bottom Door release latches to release the door.
(One latch on each side of Bottom Door; where Bottom Door meets Battery Compartment. The Latches slide to the INSIDE of the laptop)

5) Slide the door towards the Front of the computer, and lift off.

[ P.S., you remove the Bottom Door; you wear an ESD wrist strap, and have it's alligator clip attached to a good ground source; or you risk using the laptop for a Frisbee from now on, or a doorstop.
Average cost is around $3 to $6 ]

You probably need a belt to be installed. I would just buy a Sony unit if they are still available. Sharp was not real high up on the quality list all the years I worked in Customer Service.

You also need to check the operation with the door open versus the door closed--to make sure that you haven't developed a mechanical bind between the door and doorjamb. If all else fails, the lock should be under warranty!

Good luck!

You don't find much with the door jamb switches any longer. Its all done inside the door with the switches being on the door latch.
the radio should still be able to be turned off manualy ;)

seems like your primary switch isn't closed correctly or it might bad.
step to trouble shoot
OVEN HAS 5000 VOLTS MOVING INTO IT PLEASE BE CAREFULL
1.press back key to turn off the oven.
2.Open left side pannel.
3.press 'back' and 'enter' key together. Then, enter 9428 and then press enter.
4.You will be directing to an testing screen. At the bottom of thetesting screen there are many alphabets. In which you can see 'P' ,'S' and 'M' .
5.Open the door and watch what happened to alphabet 'P'.I meant to say that when door open alphabet will highlited ,and when closed its seems an regular 'P'
6.open door and close the door .And also keep an eye on the primary switch at the top left corner of the oven where the door latches engaged. If it engaged very nicely and you still see an highlited 'P' in the testing screen then REPLACE THE PRIMARY SWITCH OR IF SWITCH IS OKAY THEN CHEK THE WIRING UPTO MAIN BOARD.
7.If switch doesn't latches properly then adjust switch ,by lossning the screw and aligned it properly.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE MULTIMETER,SO I CAN EXPLAIN YOU HOW TO CHECK THE SWITCH.
