Bad cord/charger, bad battery? What give you the idea that " i think it has a broken internal power supply" Your saying your laptop will not charge the battery? Does the laptop work? If so the power supply is OK.

Battery wont charge

Is it a different charger? If it isn't try plugging it into a car or at home on the computer or the wall. If that doesn't work maybe getting it checked out will help.

My computer wont charge. i think the internal power supply of the pc is broken.

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Ibm think pad does not charge

Hi There,
There are two things that may be wrong:
1 - check your power supply with a multimeter to ensure that it is putting out the proper voltage constantly. AC power supplies generally have a three year life span, shorter with laptops because they get pulled, shoved, twisted, etc.
2 - check that the power input pin on your laptop is in good condition. The board may be broken and you may need to find a new laptop.

Laptop wont even boot up

Do you have it on a power strip? if so try resitting it,if the battery is at full charge then you have an internal problem in the laptop itself.Bad power board, etc.Hope this helps.

Computer wont boot up

Take the battery out and try to boot the computer up with the external power supply.. If this works the the battery is shorted. If it doesn't then you will need to try another power supply, if that doesn't work then something internal has shorted in laptop

No power

HI,
you haven't mentioned clearly is the laptop in on state or are the batteries able to give power to laptop to start

try this solution if you have checked that the Ac Adapter is finr

take out the battery from the laptop and then plugin the AC adapter and then try to start your laptop

if your laptop starts without the battery by getting power through the Ac adapter, most likely your battery is Bad, get it replaced, if it doesn't start then it can be power circuit on the motherboard or the connectors you should get it checked from a technician.

If you think my solution was helpfull please do rate me

Power problem - led shows the ac plug is in - battery does not charge - can not run laptop on ac adapter - what is causing this problem

Hi,
The connection to the power supply inside the Pc is or has gone,
because your using the connection 1000 times a year, it faulters, and fails.

$150/$200 to get repaired.
Strip out the laptop solder connection back up,
rebuild, very common problem.

Regards
Richard.

Compaq nx500 battery wont charge

I could be that your battery ran out of juice. 6 cell batts can only charge upto 1000 charges then they die. Or it could be your internal laptop power supply.

good luck
