Ivar comes from ancient Norse/Scandinavian and means "The Archer" or "Bow Warrior." Not sure why this question was in computer support, but love the meaning of the name.

How long does it take the room temp to get to a/c set temp

That will depend on the temperature difference between the room now and where you want it to be. Also the size of air conditioner, how big the room is. Too many variable to give an exact answer.

Room Tempurature on theomastat is not showing correct room tempurature

Sometimes thermostats Just go bad or are miscalibrated. Sometimes when it is on an exterior wall and it wont show the right room temp due to the wall being cold. Move to interior wall or replace.

It is increasing temp 2 hours before scheduled

Most programmable thermostats are "smart stats" which use a programmed algorithm base on a preprogrammed P (proportional) I (Integral) D (derivative) Loop. To make a long story short, the programmed temperature will make the room that temperature by the programmed time. This is based on how long it has taken it in the past to bring the room up or down to temperature. So if your setpoint is 70, and your set time is 7 AM, then the furnace or AC will bring the room to that temperature by the set time...not start at the set time.

Electric dryer. We replaced the heating element. Now a soon as you turn it on, the back inside of the drum glows red hot. Could it be the themostat?

HI. The thermostats in this particular case will be the focal point for your troubleshooting. I would recommend to test all that are included in the unit, especially, the high limit thermostat. I believe this will be the culprit. Be sure that the unit is well ventilated, also. clean out the entire ventilating assembly, if needed.
Thermostat testing procedure:

To test the thermostats or fuse, set your multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. You should get a reading of either zero or infinity. At room temperature, the thermostats should have a reading of zero. When the thermostats are heated to their limit temperature, they should switch off and you should get a reading of infinity. The fuse should be tested at room temperature for continuity.

NOTE_ If all temperature monitoring devices test out ok; Replace the main control device.

Turning room thermostat down, doesnt cool room

You have a safety switch switch on your system that is opening and locking your system out, not allowing it to come on. This is telling you that there's a problem with the system and it needs to be checked out.

The dryer is working, however it is not drying. THe air is room temperature. I beleive I need to replace the fuse. How do I know which to replace?

Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse. To test the thermostats or fuse, set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. You should get a reading of either zero or infinity. At room temperature, the thermostats should have a reading of zero. When the thermostats are heated to their limit temperature, they should switch off and you should get a reading of infinity. The fuse should be tested at room temperature for continuity.
