I have downloaded google chrome but how do I know if its my web browser

If you have downloaded AND installed Google Chrome then during the installation it gives you the option of making it your default web browser. If it is the default then that means that most everything that requires a web page to automatically open will use Google Chrome for that purpose.

If what you are asking is "How do I know if its installed?" then there should be a shortcut placed on the desktop for it.

Hope this helps

Why does msn open as browser when I open google search

Long and short your home page has been hijacked. The previous responses are all correct and you need to follow their advice with one extra step. Every time you download or install software, do it slowly and carefully reading EVERY page/window that opens so you don't just keep hitting enter and key past the point where it says " hey sucker if you don't read this and say no we are going to make changes you don't want" and this is the gospel truth...

How to set password on a site google chrome

Google Chrome does not give users the ability to password-protect the browser and prevent other people from launching it.
As a result, family members, co-workers or friends may be able to view your bookmarks, saved passwords and browser history.
To add a measure of protection, you can install one of several free extensions for Google Chrome that will prompt for a password before the browser will accept commands or input from the user.

Open Google Chrome and navigate to the download page for the Browser Lock extension at
Click the blue "Install" button on the right side of the page.
Chrome will install Browser Lock and displays the Settings screen.
Click the "Enter New Password" field at the top of the page and type the password that you wish to set for Google Chrome.

Click the "Save & Lock" button at the bottom of the page and then close Google Chrome.
Open the browser again.
The application starts in an unusable state and displays the message "Locked by Browser Lock" at the bottom.

Press the "Ctrl," "Shift" and "L" keys simultaneously on your keyboard.
Type your password and press "Enter" to use Google Chrome.

Simple Startup Password Extension

Download and install Simple Startup Password for Google Chrome. Once the extension is installed, click the "wrench" icon in the upper right corner of the browser window. Select "Tools" and click "Extensions."

Click the "Options" link under "Simple Startup Password."

Click the "Enter Password" field and type the password you want to set for Google Chrome. Click the "Save" button.

Click "OK." Close and re-open Google Chrome.
The browser prompts for a password before it becomes usable.

PanicButton Extension

Download and install PanicButton for Google Chrome.
After the extension is installed, click the "wrench" icon in the upper right corner of the browser window.
Click "Tools" and then "Extensions."

Click the "Options" link under "PanicButton."

Click the drop-down menu under "Password Protection" and select "Yes."
Type the desired password and click the "Save" button.

Click the red "PanicButton" icon in the upper right corner of the window to hide your active browser tabs.
To reveal the hidden tabs, click the button again and type your password.
Note that PanicButton does not prevent Google Chrome from being launched as the previous two extensions do.

How to delete a web page?

I am assuming that You mean how do you erase the evidence, that you have been on a specific web page from your Google chrome's history/cache.

Here is the procedure:

Click on the wrench in the upper right corner of your browser

select options from the menu

select the "under the hood" tab

Under the privacy heading there should be two buttons "content settings" & "clear browsing data"

click on the "clear browsing data" button.

The items that require a check box to be selected are what you will be deleting from the browsers stored data. If you did not download or fill in information into a form then you will just need to check: "clear browsing history", "empty the cache", & "delete cookies and other site and plug-in data".

If you want to have less of a chance of it being detected that you cleared data from the browser then you could use the drop-down menu to delete the selected items from only the last hour, day, week, or four weeks. While the default setting is from the beginning of time, meaning all of that selected data that has ever been collected by Google chrome.
