Trying to find out why motor not running. It does not rotate but seems to vibrate in one spot.
The brushes are new. Field windings both have the same ohm value (5.4 Ohms). Readings between armature segmets are 2.2 ohms with a few segs down to 1.8 ohms. (I suspect this could be the fault - I probably need to get the armature tested with a growler). Reading between armature windings and stator (earth) is 16Mohms. Any ideas if this is okay?
I know this may sound stupid, but check that you have the earth wire from the mains connector, athinish black wire connected to the terminal on the mixer. My Kenwood would not run after i made a capacitor repar. The motor just "Buzzed" until i put the thin black earth strap back onto the casing.
I sincerely hope this helps,
