Re: HP DESKJET380 NOT RESPONDING WHEN CLICK ON PRINT
After sitting in power save mode for a long period of time the printer might not function properly. This happens when the printer is plugged into a surge protector. Unplug from the surge protector and plug directly into the wall power socket.
Please try to print Self test Print from the Printer (without PC ie. remove the USB cable from the PC)
If the Self test Print is Ok, try to connect your printer to PC
and Print Test Page
Go to Start >> Printers and Faxes >> Select your Printer F380
then Right click Properties and Click on "Print Test Page"
If this prints Ok then all the connections you have made are correct
In case, it does not print then please check your USB cable try to change it
You can uninstall your Driver
and install the new driver, to download the driver for F380 All in One Printer Please click the below link
Choose appropriate Operating System HP F380 All in One Printer Driver
I hope this will resolve your problem
all the best

Switch off the printer,un install existing drivers(not to delete), restart the computer, switch on the printer, check whether system is recognized the printer?.. if not,try with another usb cable, no luck? problem with Logic card if available replace it or else go for new printer.. If system is recognized the printer, switch off the printer, run the driver CD.. connect USB cable when dialog box appears, do rest of the installation process. Shoot test page....Best off luck..
I had the same problems some months ago. I only solved it when I deleted the printer settings from my computer and reinstalled the software, making sure that I installed all the components from the CD. Also make sure that the printer is on fax default setting when you are using it as fax. You can check this by going to My Computer then Control Panel, then choose Printers and Other Hardware then choose Printers and Faxes. You can then set as default hp Officejet 5500 series fax. Hope these suggestions help.
1)right click the my computer icon 2)click properties and then click hardware n go to device manager. 3)uninstall all usb ports and then scan for hardware changes 4)ur pc will detect your printer and ask for printer drivers 5)re load drivers and your pc will communicate with your printer 6)for reloding install the cd follow the instructions on the screen and click next 7)restart when the printer is loded.connect the wires and cords properly.
Here is the HP link the software downloads for your device. Click on the link for your operating system and select either the full feature or basic feature software download. Your CD had the full feature but at 276MB you may prefer the 37MB basic download instead.
