Exchange unit under manufacturers warranty. While the Razr HD and Razr M use a micro-sim, the Razr V uses a normal sim(really a mini sim). The micro -sim is exactly half the size of the required sim and fits perfectly sideways into the slot. If you push it with another sim card you can make it click into and out of the mechanism. It will come back as far as the spring pushes it, but no further, and because it is only half the size, there is nothing to grip onto, and it is still under gentle pressure from the contacts. Removal of the the back cover and non-removable battery still does not allow access to the rear of the slot so the sim can be pushed out. Ask Motorola for DOA warranty replacement and keep the faulty one as a 4" wifi tablet.
you can check it with other sim card ,if it remains the same problem ,it may be locked to particular network wont accept any sim card other than the particular network ,you can unlock it and used to other network, try here http://www.prounlocking.com/sony-ericsson-w910i/rs8wp9/
Hi the first thing you need to check is if that sim card was working in the phone before if it was then ill discuss further at the end of this, if how ever it is not the original sim card then if this sim card has not been used for 180 days then the sim card gets cancelled and your phone wont pick it up, also you need to make sure the sim card you are using is for the network the phone is locked to.
Ok if the sim card is good and is working and its the correct one for your phone then this could mean one of a couple of things. try the following. 1. try the sim card in another phone to ensure it is still working and not been damged. 2. try another sim card in the phone this way you will know if its the phone with the problem or the sim card3 3. if its the phone with the problem then remove the sim card and check all the connection the sim card touch on the phone are clean and free from corrosion, press all the connections down with your finger to ensure they are all springy still. 4. if your sure the sim card works then you can try putting a small piece of paper on the back of the sim card so that when you put the sim card in the phone the extra piece of paper pushes the sim card down onto the contacts further as this does ware and you lose the connection. if you can you can build up some tape on the back of the sim just to build it up slightly so it pushes is donw harder onto the contacts. if after doing that it still dont work then the problem you have is going to be with the sim card reader on the phone. if this is the case then this part will need replacing and then this will solve your problem.
The cheapest place to get this done is one of those small phone shops that are not part of a big chain these need your custom and will offer you the cheapest prices for the repair.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
I had this problem with my 2004 turbo, I took it to my dealers and they said they it would need a whole new PCM unit as the disk drive was also faulty, happily they replaced it under warranty and didnt charge me a thing.
