Question about Garmin nuvi GPS
If I end up buying a battery for my Garmin nuvi 260W GPS, how do I replace it?
Its not likely to be in the owner manual as they do not want the average person to attempt this.
I would Google the model with "battery installation" etc or contact Garmin to see if they can help or not.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If you are trying to use your unit in the car via the USB port and not the supplied cable, it will not work. You must use the bracket that came with the unit or the specific charger that came with the unit. The pins in the Garmin USB charger only use two pins whereas a regular charge cable uses 4.

Take a look at this site, http://www.garmin.be/missing.html Download and unzip the software, plug your garmin in the USB and start the updater.exe program. It gets you started again. Later on you can use the Webupdater to get possible newer software..
It worked for me and my Zumo550
