i am experiencing restarts as i power on my server. I suspect there is a problem with the display.

remove all non essential pci options .. nics / modems etc and try powering up.
any messages during post? beeps ?
BIOS setting for boot set to "quick" ?

bad ram causes restarts; download from memtest86.com and test the RAM first. Next, check fans and BIOS temp for overheating; clean out dust if fans are overheating and causing restarts. Check CPU heat-sink; if detached system will overheat and restart immediately.
