You need a new pump! These are easily changed as I did it in less than 20 min. my 1st time.Disconnect the power and I turned my water valves off as well. Tilt the washer back and place a support under the leg, Do Not lay the washer on it's back. Take a flashlight and you will see the pump to the front right side (has a propeller). Disconnect the wires and slowly turn the pump counter clockwise and it should come loose. reverse the procedure to install the new one. They can be ordered online or check some of your local repair places that sell parts. The average cost is $75 to $100.

Why do I not have power or anything light up on panel?

Sorry to hear about that.

Your F&P probably doesn't have the modification to drain pump wires from the main board. So, your main board got fried when your pump went out.

You're going to need a new main board AND a new pump. The new pump should come with an inline fuse and instructions on how to install it.

I have a f&p washing machine gwl15. It will not

That's a pump blocked error. Your drain pump is burning up and will need to be replaced.

Fisher and paykel gwl15 wont completely drain

Also check the clear pressure tube for blockages,
Blow air down the pressure tube to remove any blockages
that would prevent water level from changing.

After an storm a surge protecter fried and melted. My top loader Fisher &; Paykel Washer, Model # GWL15 US won't turn on, nothing. It seems the mother board fried. Can I resolve this and fix it myself?...

Hi just read your posting.Unfortunately your motor controller is dead.Yes you can change it yourself and I will guide you throe it. 1st-- Ring your local Fisher and Paykel parts distributor and get the price of a new or reconditioned motor controller. Also check your power outlet with a small appliance such as a toaster to be sure there is power to your machine. Now open the top panel of your machine by removing the top 2 screws located at the top of the panel at the back.Once you have removed the top panel see if you can detect any burning smell near the controller. Now, I am sure with the information you supplied in your posting your controller is dead but it to be sure it might be wise to get the controller tested just in case. The reason for this is because the controller will not be cheap.Ask your local parts distributor if they can test your controller for you. Please reply and tell me how you got on or for further help or information.

My washer turned itself off, wont turn inside and had an odor.... like a burnt belt???

Hi just read your posting.Have you checked your power point for power with a small appliance such as a hairdryer etc.If you definitely have power to the machine and it still does not turn on then either your pump is faulty or your motor controller is faulty. If you could look under the machine for me and tell me if you have the pump with a fan attached to it.The pump is red or black in color and is located to the front right. If you have this style of pump that"s where the burning smell might have come from. Please reply once you have checked the pump or seen you have the newer style of pump, which has no fan.

Musty smell especially in towels

Once towels have had mold grow on them, it's unlikely you will ever get rid of that smell. You can usually tell a towel has had mold grow by discolorations on solid color towels. You probably need to start over with new towels, make sure they are washed and dried frequently and that they don't stay damp for long after showering. If you live in a humid climate, a towel warming rack will help with drying.

Fisher Paykel washer GWL15

I have noticed this same problem and wonder if it because my FP washer wasn't draining properly and dirty water couldn't get out. See my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot". I found one of my husband's socks when I removed the black motor/white plastic housing on bottom of washer. tip washer back and you'll see this electric motor. My post tells how to remove it. then you can look into that small space and see if there is something plugging it.

I am waiting on my replacemt motor, and hoping all the dirty streaks are gone. the water I drained out after i removed the sock was really grimy and gritty with dirt. I'm sure the sock has been holding a lot of junk in the bottom of the tub and it would end up on clothes during spin cycle. My issue has been going on for a few weeks and then the motor finally smoked which led to the sock discovery!

Mildew smell

water may not be draining completely out cause something is stuck in drainage area.

Other posts tell how to remove the top of washer to look between white outer tub and inner wash tub for sock or something else that is lodged.

Look at my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot" for instructions on removing the black motor/white plastic housing from bottom of washer. I had a sock stuck in the very lowest part of the drainage system, water wouldn't drain out and couldn't see the sock until I removed the motor. I was able to pull the sock through the quarter-sized hole in bottom of tub and drain the remaining very stinky water. I used a dog dish (need a low edge bowl to fit under washer), tipped washer forward, then back and just kept emptying the dish.

Saw another post said don't tip washer back. There is something on backside of washer that you could break if you tip backwards. So, if you tip forward i guess you won't break anything--i haven't...yet.

Noticed a musty smell lately, and also had gray streaks on my clothes. Think the standing water that wouldnt' drain out has been my issue for some time now and when the motor burned out, I finally had to research the other issues.

My washing machine stops mid cycle

issue where washer stops and water won't drain might mean something is in drain area.

look at my issue "eco smart won't drain, smells hot" and see about the sock. I found one of my husband's socks so far down in the tub bottom that I couldn't see it when I looked between plastic outer liner and wash tub. Had to remove black motor/white housing on bottom of machine--which i had to replace cause it burned out. That is when I saw the sock and pulled it out through a quarter-sized hole.
