Those specs would be right - I have this same board but the amp was fried by a previous owner. I pulled the amp board out and tossed it and use the mixer now to drive an external amp. Great board.
This amp is rated at 1200W "peak", bridged into an 8ohm load. That would equate to about 900W RMS bridged into 8ohm or 450 per side into 4ohm loads per side.
You can't daisy chain all 4 speakers....impedance would be too low. You can run two of your 8ohm speakers per side - that results in a 4ohm load per side for the amp. That would give you amp delivery of 450W per side. Your speakers are rated to handle more than that so you're fine.
For the record.....you could run one speaker per side no problem....just lower power output.
Please state the subs impedance, but assuming 4 subs with 8Ohm Voice Coil you CAN'T run them in parallel in Bridge Mono because this amp's minimum impedance is 4Ohm in bridge and 2Ohm stereo, maybe a series/parallel connection work, but what's the advantage to run them in Bridge mode? This amp delivers 900W per channel at 4Ohm, you can run a pair paralleled for each channel in a safe way and without the high-risk of your amp being destroyed, besides, amp power at 4Ohm Bridged is NOT recommended for continuous use, let me know your results...
Hello , I will be glad to help you.As far as your speakers..It depends on what impedance your subs are rated and if your Picasso amp can be bridged at 4ohm or 8ohm. If your subs are 8ohm each you can wire your subs in parallel and wire them to picasso amp in bridged mode. If your subs are 4ohm each.Then wire the subs in series then wire them to amp in bridged mode..caution do not wire subs in parallel if they are 4ohm .This would bring impedance to about 2 ohms and would be harsh for amp to handle...Goodluck
Did you sort your problem? I need 2 also, but seems quite easy to get 4ohm but 8 ohm a little harder. The woofer in the cab is 4ohm, cabinet is rated 4ohm so wondering wether to replace th 8ohm horn with a 4ohm diaphram. Any thoughts? Thanks.
You could check the 115/230 switch. If you are getting power to the unit no fuse or circuit breakers tripped, and you have 8 ohm speakers connected, and a signal in you should get a signal out. Level controls should be up. If all of those things are true, then the amp is broke and needs an electronic technician to repair it.
First of all the EXA-3940 is rated at 350watts per channel in to 8 ohms. The 1400 watts is bridged into a 4 ohm load. Second, the speakers can handle 1000Wats peak with an average of 600 continuous (i'm guessing). That tells me that the amp is underpowered for the speakers. The sensitivity of the amp is such that the mixer is overdriving the input stage. That is what is causing the clipping. If you are looking for more volume, you are probably better off purchasing another amp and running them in bridge mode, 1 per speaker cab. Be careful though, not to overdrive the speaker cabinets either.
