SOURCE: replacing a circuit board on a microwave

It's very easy to do if you can get the circuit board. Take the two screws out of the plastic fan grill and pop it off. There should be one screw above the control panel. Take that off and the panel should pop off by slightly pushing up. Unhook all the wires and unscrew the board. Put the new board in and your done.

Not heating...everything else works.. just will not heat

There is an element on the inside of the Microwave, I believe its called a Magneto or Magnetron it's been a while since I've dealt with these, that tends to go out. Unless it's one of the $200 to $300 models I would just junk it and get a new one from one of the centers out there. It usually cost less to replace than repair.

your magnatron or magneto depending on model, has given up the ghost. The repair cost is almost as high as replacement.

Microwave does not work at all. circuit breaker is fine and fuse inside microwave is good. i don't understand what the problem is. please help.

If the fuse inside microwave is good then the magneto has gone out. The cost for replacement of the magneto is prossibly more than the cost of a new microwave.

Food still cold after cooking

Is this a combi oven? If it is not-and only a micro then there is no heating element. Try it on micro(if its a combi) with a mug of water for approx 30 seconds to test it. If its a combi-is the micro function still working?

Whirlpool Microwave

The magnetron has failed and has damaged the waveguide. This type of failure is generally unrepairable. First look in your owners manual for specific warranties, then contact Whirlpool and explain to them what has happened.
