    Hi jhall1793!

I cant give much technical details as I dont have really much knowledge in car amps. But I'll try anywhere. Apart of what I have already said about, before the problem occurred, the amp was overheating on regular basis (known issue with this amp), but it was enough to switched it off for few minutes and on, and have it play for some time. At one stage, it died completely. I have checked the amp, all wiring is there nothing disconnected/changed, pulled out the radion, nothing suspicious either. Noticed today, there is now power not getting there, which wasnt the case in initial symptoms.

Also tried to get owner manual, as there are some knobs and swithes (eg. LPF, HPF and Gain) witch I'm not sure are in right position and have anything to do with it.

    Hi 69althatime,

I know Boss amp is ****, you can find that info all over the net. I did not buy it, it came with the car I have purchased.

mirkow: knowing that you don't have voltage @ the amp is a start. you need to find the fuse/s that supply the amp to see if it/they is/are open. with the overheating issue the amp may have failed & blown the fuse/s. if you find that it is open, try replacing it to see if the amp functions. if the fuse opens again when power is supplied, then the amp is probably fried, unless there is another device like an equalizer that is utilizing the same power source & is shorted. let me know.

    peace-out

Climate control (fan not working)

How would anyone other than the mechanic that tested
that system know the answer?

It is all about having reference material, trouble flow charts,
& proper test equipment & having the vehicle to test

Could that person have misdiagnosed it & your question is
valid, sure, but no one would know what else it could be on a
guess

Is there a fuse for transmission in a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am???

If you just had trans work done, don't use the car,
take it back & hopefully they will resolve the issue

Parts Store people are not all mechanics or shouldn't even
give out advice.

You should have a warrantee, use it

Im having heating issues with my boss ba-4400 plz anyone tell me why?btw its burning hot cant even touch it.

You thermal fuse/thermostat/thermistor is faulty...replace it because this is causing your heating problem and could cause a fire.
Most are located on the air duct in the back on the dryer they will look like the picture below.
You can check the fuse with an ohm meter...if it is working it will have continuity, if it is faulty it will not have continuity.

Would not play anything

If this is happening to all the discs you insert then you are having a problem with the laser lens. If the lens is faulty then you wont have any success. Replace the unit or if you want to really invest in the repair then go ahead and do so but im personally not to crazy about boss car audio equipment, quality is poor and chances are that it will happen again. Good luck boss.... : )

Red light flashes on amp when you turn the ignition key.

It really sounds like a grounding problem. Recheck it make sure where it's attatched to the chassis is scraped to bare metal, an you used a clean, shiny bolt to attach it. Also us a voltmeter to check your power wire just to be sure it's not that, you should get 12-15 volts. Also just make sure none of your fuses are blown. And Use the voltmeter to check your REM wire, your should also be getting 12-15 volts there. If this doesn't fix your issue i'm at a loss to explain it..... Buy a new amp, and don't buy Boss, i've had lots, and lots of problems with them in the past.

Boss BA-2900 car amp doesnt produce any sound

i have come across a similar problem before. if you are using the ceramic (glass, clear) fuses the solder in the end caps sometimes melts. you will not see the fuse blown, but the fuse may still be bad. try a new fuse to see if that works. also make sure no single stray strands of wire from a positive or negative wire are touching on the terminals on the amp. i hope this helps. ill keep thinking of other things in the meantime
