LCD screen totally white when turn on

The HP is a flat screen monitor used with many desktop computers. When the LCD on your HP monitor goes white, it is an indication that your monitor's inverter board has gone bad. The inverter board is a small circuit board that transfers power from the monitor's main circuit board to the LCD screen. Replacing the inverter board means dismantling the HP monitor.

1. Power down your computer and unplug the HP monitor cable from the back of your desktop. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the monitor. Relocate the monitor to a flat work surface. Place the monitor with the screen facing downward.

2. Remove the Phillips-head screws from the monitor's base stand and from the back cover. Lift the base stand off of the monitor and remove the back cover. Peel away the foil from inside the monitor around the internal circuit board.

3. Locate the inverter board near the bottom of the monitor's casing. Unplug the power cables from either side of the inverter. Loosen the Phillips-head screws from the inverter board. Lift the old inverter out of the monitor's casing and set it aside.

4. Place the new inverter inside the monitor. Replace the Phillips-head screws and fasten it in place. Reconnect the power cables to the connectors on each side of the new inverter. Replace the foil around the outside of the main circuit board.

5. Replace the back panel and base stand, and their retaining Phillips-head screws

I hope you find it very helpful.

Hello, I can not split the base for the monitor hp 1730, can assist me please, stuck in the laptop position

You have to remove four screws in order to separate the monitor base from the monitor.
Check the manual (section "Setting Up The Monitor", subsection "Removing The Monitor Base") for images of the location of the screws.
You can download the manual using this link: http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01129544/c01129544.pdf

How do I remove back of a hp w1907 monitor to repair

This ones a little tricky. Hope you have strong fingers. Start by removing the base. There are 3 screws. First pull the base plate off. Then remove 2 screws. Next remove the little rubber insert in the center of the base bracket. You will need a long phillips to get to the 3rd screw. Slide out the base bracket. Flip the panel over and stare at the lcd with the buttons side on the top. Grab a small flat head screw driver. Look at an angle in each of the corners between the inner black lcd trim and the silver outside trim. There is a ****. Shove the flathead in there and pry outward toward the silver trim while lifting on the black inner trim vertically. The trick is to flex the black trim toward the silver and then pull up. There are 6 plastic snaps on the top and bottom, and 4 snaps on the left and right. If you've taken laptop screens apart, you'll feel the similarity.

I actually have an HP Pavillion zd8000 where I need to install a new DVD "D" Drive. I have removed all of the screws, including the ones under the battery, by the Hard Drive, the back base of the monitor...

Generally, the optical drive can be removed without taking the casing apart, just one screw holds it in under the laptop. If yours is one of those that does need to come apart, you will need to make sure that the two screwsat the rear of the laptop are undone. When you take the bexel off where the power button is, there will be two more screws holding the hinge in, they need to come out too. Then you need to remove the LCD screen before the rest of the case will come apart.
