Kitchen sink side spray clips/couplings don't match any replacement parts

We're renting a house and don't know the make/model of our kitchen faucet (any tips on how to id it?)
The side spray has been leaking for a couple of months so my husband decided to replace it. Only he's tried 3 different replacement kits from Home Depot, Walmart, etc., and nothing fits.
The faucet is a brushed chrome or stainless finish, wiht a lever handle that sits next to the spigot. The side sprayer sits on the opposite side of the lever. The existing side spray has a non-threaded connector that is covered by two halves of black plastic which are in turn held together by a wire clip. It connects to a coupler under the spigot that seems extremely long, and the bottom part of it is unthreaded. The hose won't fit onto the unthreaded part for a long enough distance to screw onto the threads at the top of the coupler, if that makes any sense
The 2 pieces of the black plastic connector cover popped apart and now the wire clip won't secure them back on.
Any ideas? Why won't a standard replacement kit work? We're going crazy!
ALSO, we seem to have developed a mysterious leak/seepage on the laminate flooring directly in front of the sink & dishwasher. Could this be related, or is it more likely the result of a problem with the dishwasher?
Thanks.

First off I would put this issue at the top of my to do list because the laminate flooring will not hold up at all with a constant water bath. That being said, turn off the water to this faucet and remove the entire faucet. Take it to a hardware store or hardware department of a box store and see if the broken part can be replaced. If yes, good. If no, replace the faucet as this is a lot cheaper than replacing the laminate floor. Good luck

The hose that goes to the Sprayer has to be disconnected under the sink at the main connection there, then it can be pulled up and out of the top of sink. the you can unscrew the nut under the sink on the flange and remove and replace.

Before you start replacing parts look under the sink and make sure the hose leading to the remote spray is not kinked or starting to kink when pulled out.

That faucet was discontinued some time back for the one you ordered parts for and the only way to get the part if it is still available is to know the part number. Now if you have a plumbing parts house in your area that specializes in faucet parts they may be able to match up the old part if you still have it.
If you can find the part number for the faucet you have then the part may still be available from Price Pfister.

Water is very slow coming out on hot side but okay on cold side. Teh rest of house taps work great.

Remove the cartridge and rinse it in another sink. If you have hard water, soak the cartridge in vinegar for a couple of hours.

Dripping faucet

Moen is a cartridge style unit. They make two different cartridges that you can buy at Home Depot. Turn the water off under the sink and then remove the handle. You will see the the cartridge. It has a U shaped retaining clip that pulls out. Once you remove it, then take a pair of pliers and pull the cartridge out. Take it up to HD and match the one you have. The new one will slide right back in and you will reverse the process.

Loss of pressure in kitchen faucet - Price Pfister

Your problem is a simple one.

  1. Turn off water to faucet.
  2. Place a towel(s) in the base of the sink(s) to prevent any parts from going down drain.
  3. Remove the handle to the faucet. (single handle only)
  4. If not a single handle then remove spout from faucet.
  5. If a single handle remove cap carefully and any loose parts.
  6. Gently turn spout side to side while lifting to remove.
  7. You will see a hole with a very small valve where the water comes out to the spout on the base of the faucet.

  1. Remove this valve (which is a backflow preventer) and replace.
  2. Reassemble and test.
Problem solved.
