SOURCE: Singer Sewing Machine model 9224. Bobbin thread

If you turn the handwheel, can you see a metal ring rotating around the outer edge of the bobbin case? If not rotating, broken gear or timing belt off.
If that ring is turning, remove the needle plate and bobbin case. As this ring now rotates, you will a finger on the ring that will pass behind the needle from right to left and it should catch the thread from the eye of the needle. If this finger, the "hook" passes above the eye, you have a timing problem.

Let me know.

Top tension about 4 or 5 and you should only just be able to pull the bottom thread through with slight resistence, if it is too tight undo the screw on the bobbin case a quarter of a turn at a time anti clockwise anjd test and keep doing that until you get it right

Where is the switch to lower feed dogs on Singer 9005. Also for a singer 247

Many Singer sewing machine manuals are available here: https://www.singer.com/support . The Singer 9005 uses a darning plate to cover the feed dogs. This was included in the original accessories and a replacement can be purchased at many sewing machine parts vendors. As far as I can tell, the feed dogs do not lower and no darning plate was included for the 247.

I hope this helps.

I have a Singer 9005 sewing machine and the upper thread is getting caught and going under bobbin case/basket when trying to pull up bottom thread. How can I fix this?

Check with your manual and rethread according to the instructions including the bobbin. Use a good quality of thread and change the needle as well in case it's bent or worn.

My singer 9005 wont sew. I threaded everything correct. but it wont sew two pieces together at all. I think its bobber prroblems, as it takes a while for me to thread it through.

If, you do not have your manual, go to www.singerco.com and download one for free. Click on customer support and instruction manual then 9005, You can enlarge your diagrams for threading etc, save the manual on your computer besides printing it out. I am hoping it is not your timing because that is not a diy job, you need special tools and expertise to do it. Good luck

I have a Singer 9005, and the top thread doesn't seem to be catching the bobbin thread. I have rethreaded according to manual, worked with the tension, changed the needle. No better. What could this...

you might try holding the top thread tail 3-4 inches to the left side of the machine & turn the hand wheel manually on the right side of machine & slowly put the needle down & see if it will pick up the bobbin thread that way
