I just received a 4th gen IPOD Nano 8 gig and it will not charge on my computer at all. I have tried a third gen ipod nano, an iTouch, and another 4th gen IPOD nano and they won't work. I have tried MY 8gig nano on other computers and it works fine. However on my computer I can charge by old 30 gig ipod video classic 2nd or 1st gen. I have tried all 6 USB ports, I have unplugged everything from my computer but the mouse, I have tried to reformat my computer, I have called apple tech support, I have talked to computer techs and no one can give me an answer. It seems as though it is my computer but I have no idea what to do. Oh yah almost forgot, I have tried a different cable with my ipod, and tried my cable with my ipod and other ipods on different computers and it is fine, so I know it is not the cable or even the player. Not sure what to do hopefully someone can give me an answer. Thank you for your time whoever is going to help me here.

You will need to replace the battery. It's allot cheaper if you do it yourself and not to difficult either.
At the following URL address you can view the battery needed. It is only 39.99

worst case scenario is that a circuit has broken inside. But your ipod will be under warrenty for a year from purchase.
Otherwise, leave the ipod to charge for a long time. Just leave it connected directly to the computer USB port despite not having any change in appearance. Also, don't connect it via a usb hub or through your keyboard. You will need to plug it into your computer directly.
You can also try entering DFU mode. Here is a great step by step guide to do that. http://iphonefreakz.com/beginners-guide/howto-dfu-mode/
Then restore the ipod and update the firmware. Make sure you have the latest version of itunes installed. By checking through software update.
About your recent purchase of 16GB 4th Gen Slim MP3 MP4 Media Player with FM radio
You have been sold a fake sized player. it is hacked to show 16GB actual size may be around 1GB to 8GB. test your player with "H2TESTW 1.4" you will find it the first hit on www.google.com let other people know and open a dispute on paypal, you have been sold a fake item. Do not return the item for refund as sellers address is very likely wrong, useless to wait for a replacement player because they all are hacked. Get a partial refund. I paid 35usd, got 20usd refunded just now.
About your problem. The player doesn't require anything works with vista and xp /etc just by plugging it into your computer and then turn it on, it will show up on your my computer as a removeable disk.
