Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

You will most likely be able to request an unlock code from Vodafone o2 etc if you have been with them for more than 90 days, I believe. You should ask them how much it costs first before going somewhere online.
If you are not happy with their pricing or unlocking terms, and if you need it unlocked for free, I have had good experiences with a site called http://www.freeg1unlockcodes.com where basically you complete an advertising offer in exchange for the unlock code (see the source link for an article written by freeg1unlockcodes themselves regarding the process, which I found useful). If this is not for you, feel free to buy one on other sites, but for people like me who cannot afford it, FreeG1UnlockCodes was a great solution. They do seem to specialise in Google G1 phones, but I successfully unlocked my Wildfire with them too.
Just click on the link below or head to their site to start your 'checkout' by clicking the "get it free button" located on the right sidebar:

The best way to unlock HTC is to buyunlock codes from a trusted vendor. Searchthe internet for mobile phone unlocking websites. You will come across athousand websites which can do this. Choose which ever you like. Do look forprice comparisons and the unlocking instructions. Recheck the Model number-Network to which your phone is locked to and the IMEI number before placing anorder. If you made any mistakes in these details these people will never giveyou a refund!!One more thing, before placing an order ask them about theconditions for getting a full refund in the case of a code failure! Think andmake a wise decision. I have personally bought the unlock code for my HTC Wildfire S from unlockgenie.com. It is becausethey have good reviews on most of the mobile phone forums. I got my phoneunlocked successfully from that website. Try the link http://unlockgenie.com/
