Question about Samsung CLX-3175FN Color Laser All-in-One Printer

Paper feed problem - too many pages

The printer will feed correctly one sheet of paper, and then it will pull in the next one before the printing of the first one is finished, resulting in an error. Sometimes the printer will just take many sheets together and jam. All rubber parts in the feeding mechanism have been cleaned, the paper is of correct type, no bends, it is fitted properly in the feeder, etc. Does anybody have a solution to similar problem?

Canon LBP 5050N Printer keeps coming up with paper jam. Have turned off, then turned on. Still did not fix. Can you help?

My LBP 5050N would print one page normally then stop with the next sheet just starting to feed (i.e. just touching the first feed wheel). When I took the paper tray out, there was one sheet left behind and I could pull that out easily without it tearing. It was gripped lightly at the beginning of the feed path.
Starting the printer again gave me another copy of the already-printed sheet (I guess that's Windows getting an error message from the printer and treating it as not having printed the first sheet).
As it will always print one page properly before jamming on the next one, the problem was obviously not a small piece of paper stuck somewhere.
I cleaned the rubber wheels with Isopropyl Alcohol as best I could, but they were not obviously dirty or slick/hardened with age. The result was the same.
Then I noticed that the two blue paper grips on each side of the tray showed a small gap of 1 or 2mm. I pushed them in to tighten them gently against the paper and the problem was solved.
I've been searching in many places for an answer to the 'frequent paper jam problem' and not seen this mentioned, so thought it would be useful to have it on record here.
Yeah, I was mentally challenged - I focused on the wrong thing from the beginning.

Before printing, the printer checks the paper size. If the paper edge guide is positioned incorrectly, the paper may be fed at an angle. If this happens, the bottom of the paper is therefore at an angle and not perpendicular with the paper feed rollers. This can result in the paper sensor not recognising the real page width as it can only detect a certain amount of the bottom of the paper sheet which is nearest to it.

If only part of the width of the paper is detected, the printer considers that the paper width is less than it actually is. To avoid printing on internal parts of the printer such as paper feed rollers, the printer automatically cuts the image to fit the detected paper width As this phenomenon depends on the paper feeding condition, it can be random.
Reload the paper and make sure it is loaded correctly. All the way to the right and the paper guide correctly adjusted.

The printer is feeding a blank sheet of paper between printed sheets. How do I rectify this?

This causes the printable area on the page to be that much less (10 3/4 or 10 1/2 on an 11 inch page). The software thinks the paper is 11 inches long and keeps track, down to the micro inch, where it is on the paper. When it reaches the 10 1/2 inches, your printer calls the page done and ejects it. However, the software thinks there is still another 1/2 inch to print (usually the footer area). Now when you insert a new sheet of paper, the software finishes printing the rest of the page (normally a blank footer) and form feeds to the next sheet. To correct what the software thinks the paper size is, you need to run the Preferences application and change the default settings. Select the Printer button. In the next window, select the 'Change Defaults....' button. Change both the Document size and the Paper size to a height of 10.875 and click OK. Try a new document to see if the paper size is correct. You may need to go back and change the height a few times until it is correct (the height changes in .125 increments). Usually either 10.875 (for 1/4 inch forced top margin printers) or 10.75 ( for 1/2 inch forced top margin printers) will work.

The paper feed solenoid is sticking, it can be seen thru a hole in the back with the door opened. Not easy to get to, but I have been able to bend the stop tab slightly and run just fine.

Problem Printing Sheet Paper with the Epson 9800

On the machines control panel set to sheet fed (pressing the left button will change from Sheet, roll and roll with cut). In the print settings select your paper profile. On the page setup choose sheet. In the pull down menu you should only have basic paper sizes, no custom size. choose 20x30 and try again.

let me know if this helps

Brother HL 2070N red paper light blinks but won't print.

Just fixed my printer issue, had the same problem, Would load 1 sheet, then jam, sometimes it won't pull the paper out of the tray, sometimes it would pull the paper to the toner area, but never into the toner, opening and slamming the paper tray while it attempted to load would usually work, but who wants to slam the tray 50 times? I was using Walgreens generic paper, 20lb, took some higher-quality 24lb HP paper and VOILA! It works every time! EVERYONE WHO IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM, CHECK THAT YOU ARE USING 24LB PAPER!!! Brother says 20-24 is acceptible, but sneaking one sheet of 20lb paper about 15 sheets down in a 20 sheet print job and it will stop at it every time, You can feel the difference, less like toilet paper and more like real paper.

24 LB PAPER! USE IT NOW AND THANK ME LATER!

Paper Jam on

most printers are pretty cheap now so replacement is always an option....on the other hand, I will spend countless hours trying to figure out what is wrong first. Remove all paper first, open printer and check for pieces of torn paper or debris, if you have a can of air you can blow out the insides to clean. Put 3 or 4 sheets of paper in, print a test page and watch carefully how paper advances...is it straight or crooked when being loaded? Is printer trying to pull more than 1 sheet at a time? Good luck
