Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
I purchased the HP CM1312NFI MFP color laserjet all-in-one printer with the intent of making it my primary SOHO network printer. I have three machines (XP Pro, Vista Ultimate w/bitlocker, and Vist Ultimate), I have attempted to add this printer to all of them with vareous levels of success. All of them failed with the initial disk, one of them (WinXP) worked after updating the driver from HP, another one started working after deleting it and "add printer" from within Vista (Vista Ultimate w/bitlocker), and the third one (Vista Ultimate does not work with any and all attempts. For reference I have been in IT support for 20 years and have NEVER been so frustrated as I am with this poorly written software from HP for this device. The Device Driver quality has gotten worse every year for 5 years in my personal experience.
I have decided that I will ONCE AGAIN remove the device, Drivers, remove latch components in Device mangeler, examine the registery, and attemp to reinstall it....not happy, not impressed, very disappointed.
On a positive note: Once it works, the printer itself is excellent and meets/exceeds my needs for quality, speed, and ease of use.
I don't want another printer...I want this one, and I want it to work!
Yes, as most of us IT guys...I am stuborn. Help?

I recently bought the HP CM1312nfi. I am using Mac OSX 10.5.6. connected via network to printer. Even though I downloaded the latest driver from HP website all programs I am using (Adobe Creative Suite 3) the Printer does not want to print in Portrait format.
Preferences are all fixed as Portrait, Din A4 Format. In all program's preview it shows clearly Portrait format but in the end the printer is cutting of the top and printing landscape.
My frustration level is very high as even HP support cannot fix the problem since two days and as working professionally in Design field I have never come along such an odd issue.
It feels as if it is a compability problem with the drivers I am using. Neither the default one from MAc nor the driver from HP website does the job....
Can anyone help? I am tempting to throw this good piece out of my window if it wouldn't be so heavy!
Please help anyone?

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
