Question about LG 32LX1D 32 in. LCD Television

Stubborn 2 in corner of screen

32" LG LCD, 2 yrs old. We just got DVR cable hooked up. I guess I pushed something wrong on the new Cable remote; now I have a white "2" inside a darker box in the upper right corner of the screen. The cable people say it isn't cable related, it must be the TV. I haven't been able to get rid of it. Thank you for any help you can give. We have turned everything off, disconnected, etc. to no avail.

My husband was kind of upset about the problem, but he thought it through and figured out that it was a cable problem (in spite of Time Warner insisting it wasn't). He unhooked the cable for a longer period of time than he had before and, voila, the 2 in the box was gone. Thank you for your help, however; you guys are great!

You have the picture in picture on and the second picture is black because there is no input source plugged into the second input.

In your manual, look up the picture in picture functions and how to control them. you should also be able to change that second picture to see the main feed and swap between them.

Good Luck,
Charles

You need to do a first time set up. The TV has to find what channels you have. You need to set the Tv to cable as your input and then auto scan for both analog and digital channels.

I have it hooked up to the cable dvr with a hdmi

You don't need to scan for channels if it is connected by a HDMI connector, just select HDMI 1 or 2 depending which one you have connected the cable to at the rear of the TV. You should now receive the already set channels from your cable box.

Little transparent box with 2 in top right hand corner of screen

Sounds like a possible "burn in" issue. Although rare, seems like a rash of these are happening to the same model.

Little transparent box with 2 in top right hand corner of screen

I found a suggested solution, reboot the cable box (unplugging & replugging) and the mysterious #2 box should disappear.

Channel displaying on Samsung 32"LCD TV

Most remote controls have a "display" button. Pressing that is what gets that channel number on the screen. Try pressing it again and the display should turn off. On some brands the display may cycle through various combinations (channel number only, channell and time, etc.) before it goes away, so it may take more than one press of the button.
