Clear CMOS (remove CMOS battery for 15 minutes), then reboot, go to BIOS - set defaults and upgrade it to correct(!!!) up to date version, do it with charget 50% minimum battery and ac adapter pluged in

SOURCE: My HP pavillion dv6000 built-in webcam will not work

I had the exact same issue and i had to send my laptop back in! They had to replace the mother board, and now my wireless won't work! This I guess is again a problem with the motherboard. these HP's have a problem overheating and hence the motherboard goes out! Contact HP and see if it's covered. I would argue to them about the posts on their page stating it's a well known problem. Hope it helps

SOURCE: No audio device installed.

It's unlikly that HP will relesae he needed Vista drivers for your sound device.
That has been a problem with Vista since day 1.
If you want your sound back, you should go back to XP.
Windows Vista use a new software architecture, and hardware devices must comply with it, in order to be used by the new OS.
Sorry

I recently bought a brand new Wildcat Realizm 200 and I would like to flash the GPU BIOS to the latest version. How should I go about doing that?

the GPU doesn't have a BIOS. BIOS stands for Basic Input / Output System. It's what your computer hardware looks at right after the POST. (Power-On Self-Test). Flashing the BIOS can be risky, if there is a power outage while it's updating or doesn't completely update your motherboard will be useless. I highly do not recommend flashing the BIOS. What I would do is update the driver. Keep in mind that only certain graphics cards work on certain machines. Intel CPUs only work with Nvidia GPUs. and AMD CPUs only work with AMD cards. It's hard to pinpoint your problem because I'm not looking at the computer.

Only a black screen, no indicator lights are nurning

I am using an Acer and it happened to me thrice. It is an easy fix.

Acer Aspire One BIOS Recovery The Acer Aspire One has a built-in BIOS recovery routine, which can boot into a minimal BIOS environment via a special boot block to re-flash the BIOS, even if the system does not pass POST and does otherwise not boot anymore. This procedure is also known as Crisis Disk.

First format an USB flash drive with FAT. It does not need to be bootable.

Download the latest BIOS, and extract all files. Put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file with FD suffix in the root directory of the flash drive. The files must not be in a folder. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD before proceeding. It only works with this exact filename.

Turn the AA1 off, and verify both battery and AC adapter are plugged in.

Press Fn and Esc simultaneously, keep them pressed and press the power button. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds. The power button starts blinking at this point. Press it once. The AA1 will now access the files on the flash drive and initiate flashing the BIOS. After a while the power button stops blinking, and the AA1 reboots by itself. Wait patiently.

If it doesn't reboot, but keeps blinking, wait at least a few minutes before turning it off, and try again. Good Luck

BIOS flashing problem. Latest BIOS from Biostar site is on flash drive, F12 during POST opens the flash screen, file is selected; but then the process hangs at blinking message "Reading file, please wait",...

If I am right, writing Bios files isn't possible with your Motherboard Bios Flash Memory. I've done updating bios on many motherboards, but most of them can't be written, when I contact the manufacturers, they only say that I must have done something wrong, following the instructions, but with the same instructions and procedures, it worked on some motherboards. Not all motherboards support flashing bios, since some bus and flash memory are faster and some are not. Sometimes your pendrive (flash drive) creates this problem, so I would suggest you to use another flash drive. I hope you did format the flash drive before you write the Bios updates files, if not, you should do it and you have to write the files on an empty drive.
(This isn't a solution, only an assistance, if this doesn't help, you can still ask for another expert's help)

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I was told to format pc cuz it only turns on for a few seconds,

Formating the pc doesn't flash your bios , to flash your bios determine which bios you have and download the new firmware for it , the new firmware will flash your bios and update it

tell me by the way why you want to flash your bios ???

Dear sirs, i put wrong parameters in bios. so

99% of all bios don't need to be flashed or updated. Unless you have a specific problem with your bios and you go into the manufacturer's website and can read about the bios updates and see your problem as one of the ones that the bios update fix, don't update your bios. It's not going to make your computer run any better, it's not going to cure all the problems you have. About half the time it just messes up your computer or can ruin it. A lot of motherboard manufacturers have come up with Windows based programs to flash the bios but if they fail then you have to go back to the old method and they usually require having a floppy disk which most computers don't come with anymore. If you're one of those people that want to play around with your computer and do a little experimenting you're must better off to go format your harddrive, wipe it clean and start all over. Then you can go find all your new driver updates, software updates, find all the files you just deleted off your computer cause you forgot to backup before you formatted it. It's a lot more fun than flashing and updating your bios because your computer will still work when you get done. Sorry dude if the pin reset doesn't work the only option is possibly putting a new bios chip on the motherboard but I haven't seen one of those in years. Not sure they even still make them detachable and you'd have to find a motherboard to get one off of.

Tons of problems

Hi freak761, it sounds like the bios was corrupted. Contact ECS through their online technical support, click on this link; http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Support/TSSRequest.aspx?CategoryID=1&MenuID=19&LanID=0
Fill out the required information. Request a new "updated" bios for your board. Most manufactures charge $5.00 US for a new bios. ECS's web site for the P4M900T-M2 V1.0
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=822&DetailName=Bios&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=0

With respect to your Hisun pen drive. Many people claim the total size of their pendrive may be fake.
There is a suggested test program that might help. Run, Bart's Stuff Test 5 Version 5.1.4 to help check your pendrive. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Bart%27s+Stuff+Test+5&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=

In windows XP you can also use windows disk manager. Open windows run window & type in diskmgmt.msc than click ok. Format the partition of the pendrive through disk manager.

Good luck!
Mike
