Has there been a building put up nearby or did the aerial move / get water in (or water down the cable)?
Check the plug end and if all fails then you might consider an aerial amplifier. I hope this makes sense.
The tv power supply board is dead.That the board,where the power a/c plug into it.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

quick simple solution that might fix it. Completely unplug the tv from the electricity for about 30 seconds. Some times especially during brown outs or black outs, the processor gets scrambled and needs to be reset. This 30 seconds of no electricity usually allows the system to reset it self correctly.
When hubby moved the tv around, he accidently butted it up against our Bose Speaker, thus pressing in one or two buttons ont he tv. Moved and speaker, and voila, the problem was solved.
