PS2 PROBLEM! It destroys my CD-s and it cannot spin cd with full speed!

Ok, pirated or burned cd/dvd/games, not unlike the first versions of the psx or ps1, caused the motor to work excessively, causing quick wear and tear. I would replace the eye, and the motor as an assembly, if you have some parts just laying around. If you are thinking of buying them, it might be cheaper just to replace the system with the current 9x PS2 system. Good luck.

I think my problem is the motor, i got this dvd player from my sister, she said...

When you get no disk error, that is usually because of a problem with the optical laser lens that is dirty, faulty or opaque, and will start operating on certain disks better than others.

In that case you will hear disk spinning, whirring and clicking, but the TOC (table of content track at start of CD/DVD will not be read, therefore the error.

Whe this problem is starting you may be able to read only CD, DVD or Blue ray, or for example only DVD-R and not +R , or only to read and not to write and so on. After more prolonged usage , often the unit goes losing the rest of functions, and ends up not reading anything at all.

If instead there is no noise, and disk does not spin at all , then there is a faulty motor, or the motor micro-switch is bad. This situation is far less common than the lens problem.

Try first using a CD/DVD or Blue ray lens cleaner disk to clean the lens. If that does not work you will need to disassemble the drive , and clean lens directly with q tips and isopropyl alcohol, or to replace the CD/DVD lens, or the whole drive unit.

What ever DVD i put into the machines, even the disc cleaner, i just get a message : UNKNOWN DISC

think it is the laser reader. it is not the motor that spins the disc for sure as i have changed it over. this means that probably the unit is scrap unless you can source and install a new laser and that might cost more in time and money than just buying a new one. I will never buy apex again . tried to write to customer services but no reply.

After loading a disc it says "no disc"

Clean the lens with a soft cotton cloth but be careful not to touch it with bare hands. Make sure the lens is not soiled with dust.
Note: if it says 'NO DISC" immediately after closing the tray, check capstan motor if spins smoothly. It is the one spinning the disc. Open the unit's casing to have a view of the disc when playing. If it doesn't spin, replace capstan motor.

I have a Duraband DVD player Model PDV-722

The problem you are noticing is due to a worn out motor that spins the DVD's. This is a VERY common problem in many players.
It will have to be replaced. It will cost over $40 to replace a motor so you are better off just buying a new one.

Audiovox D1020 DVD player won't read DVD anymore

I have the same problem! The only way to fix this is to replace the motor that spins the DVD. if you take it apart and spin the DVD the movie will play. The motor is just wore out and has no torque to start the play process. I am still looking for a replacement motor for it and haven't found anyone that carries the motor required. Only Audiovox so far and they want 180 to send in and fix.

Spindle motor

Probably not much help , but . . .
- These fail rarely; most go to the great recycling place in the sky before that motor fails.
- Obviously, you have better access than I, but I have seen many more failures of the electronics that control the motor than bad motors.
- That motor was probably made by an outside company but ferreting that out could be tough as  GoVideo does not seem to have a website any more.
One final note; the last part of the number you listed, '3703A' could very well be the date code and may mean '37th week of 2003.'  That number structure is quite common on Asian components.

Can u help experts online?

Well to me either the Motor Hub or the Laser assembly needs to be replaced if no spinning then its the Motor hub if spinning and then its probably a dirty laser or a burnt out laser and needs either cleaning or replacement or it could have even come out of alignment which would also pose a issue.
