Is this the spring in the back if so look in the very back center bottom and you will see where the hole use to be but it probably rusted out just take like 1/4" drill bit and make another hole Please rate my solution

Why is my fridgidaire top loading washer so loud?

You didn't say when it was making the loud noise. During the wash cycle or spin cycle? An unbalanced washer will make a loud racket, too many clothes or actually not enough will make the basket bang around in there. If it has a center agitator, make sure it is tightened down. The screw is under the center Fabric Softener cup. That's the easy stuff to check. Now on mine, when you take the front panel off, I noticed that the hooks and springs that hold the basket up & in place and help keep it balanced, had actually over time had worn the round holes in the metal construction of the machine to oblong holes. Not much you can do about that. If the noise is coming from the motor, & you can't find a used cheap one, it would be more cost efficient to just use as long as you can and buy another machine. A loud noise could also be caused by a bad pulley. Hope this helps.

When the washer runs on final spin cycle I hear a banging sound within the unit. As the spinning increases in speed, the banging is extremely loud and unbearable. What would be the problem?

1 or more springs are broken or fell off.

If it is by chance a 2000 or 2001 Sears front load washer (Electrolux), the outer shell likely failed where the springs attach to keep the outer shell and inner wash tub suspended.

If you remove the lower panel, and look underneath and see one or more springs laying down on the bottom of the cabinet, look around to see if you can spot the end of the spring. Sometimes the ear that breaks off these will still be attached to the spring. The ear cannot be glued. The outer shell "could" be replaced, but the time investment makes complete replacement of washer the only cost effective solution in that situation.

If by chance the springs simply popped out, they can be re-hooked to the ear they came out of with some effort and careful pushing of the outer shell.

My megawdss will not spin everytime can you help

I had this problem, may be an easy fix if similar issue: Remove back cover. Take a look at the underneath the drum towards the right hand side. There may be a hook on a wire hanging there. If it is just hanging, there, it should be hooked onto a grey coloured lever, which has a hole on the edge of it. This is the drum brake which during the spin cycle releases the brake allowing the washer to spin. Hook the hook onto this grey lever through the hole. Replace the back cover. Test the machine with a towel or something, allow it to fill a little, then jump to the spin setting and see if it spins. Worth a shot, these are great machines.

Tub Slipping On Spin Cycle ( Direct Drive No Belt) Possibly Clutch ????

It is possible the rear counter balance spring has come off or the hole that the spring hooks onto has rusted. If the spring hook end has broken off you can often just bend a new hook part with a couple of pairs of pliers. If the hole in the washer frame has rusted, you will need to drill a new hole to hook the rear balance spring into. If the spring "took off" somewhere and is now missing, time for a new spring.

hope this helps.

At the end of each spin cycle it knocks loudly

A Clothes Washer with the complaint of "excessive noise & sssshaking" can typically be a couple of things;

Un-level Washer (Very Likely) - I would level and adjust your legs on your washer appropriately. Make sure when your slighly "push test" your washer, you have no machine movement, rocking or tilting. When the machine is going into the final rinse/spin cycle, the tub can rotate fast and if the washer legs or even the floor is slightly un-level, this can result in your washer to become noisey, shake, etc and can further cause the unit to break-down and no longer spin.

Un-balanced Load (Likely) - Ensure you are loading the washer and distributing the clothes (weight) evenly as this may cause the tub to spin improperly at final spin cycle.

Broken Drum Support/Springs (Likely) - Can be 5" black supports located at inside - top of tub area. Also, springs can also be located at inside bottom rear of machine holding the tub to the rear panel.

counter weight spring hooks in hole left side of rear spring bracket thens hooks through directly below that in base..unless hole is rusted out then just drill a new one ..by the way some wobble is normal a stationary tub would cause a lot more vibration
