well theres not a window in the back of mine, I have a RX595, so this doesn't work for me. but I did get my printer to work again by turning off the monitoring ink levels in the printer software and now it doesn't try and do all that charging anymore.

This is the worst part of this printers ,that when you insert it in the printer they say charging and there is a tube beneath the head of the cartridges that pulls the cartridge and there is a small socket with sponge in it and the ink gets collected in it.so there r three options 1)remove the cartridges and retry.sometimes it becomes proper. 2)again replace the cartridge. or 3)replace the printer.i will advice for hp printer.you will never have such complaints in hp printer.they r quick and the cartridges  last long and give triupple times more printout then other model printers. thankls.

How to clean my Epson RX595 Photo All In One Printer printer nozzles. My printer is always needing print head cleaned. I run clean print head but still have issues with yellow and black. I have installed...

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?
ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

IF YOU ARE USING GENERIC CARTRIDGES, MAYBE IT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU DISABLE THE INK MONITOR.

This is the only advice I can give you.

The next step would be to disassemble the Epson, and clean the Pads/Heads. Click on link below.:

I located a page on http://www.fixyourownprinter.com forum, which had plenty of details about similar issues.

Epson RX595 says "Error-paper jam" but no paper in printer!!!

I got my printer to work (finally! #$^%$%) by moving the ink carriage back and forth a bit gently and then I sprayed a small amount of WD40 on a lint free small cloth and wiped the silver bar inside with it. I slid the carriage slowly from one side to the left and it seemed to stick less. I thought my printer was broken so I figured it couldn't do any more harm and lo and behold it worked! My printer went back to the normal screen after turning it back on and I am finishing the print job that I never thought would happen. YAY!

How to clean parking pads on rx595

The best thing you can do with those pads is wipe the rubber parts with a damp rag to remove dried ink and paper fibers. If they have a filter in the center you put a couple drops of bottled water on those pads and then do a cleaning cycle for the printheads. That draws the ink and water thru to the ink absorbers at the same time cleaning the print nozzles.

Epson rx595 cannot recognize ink cartridge

Just had this happen to me. Turned it off, turned it back on... nothing. In/out with the cartridge several times and when I blew on the contacts of the printer (where the little microchio on the cartridge touches) it finally worked. Did the blowing on the contacts help? Maybe, but more likely is that the it was just repeatedly trying to d oit before the machine figured it out.

Ink cartridge

Using some switch cleaner solvent, gently clean the contacts on the cartridge carriage, and also if you have any, use some inkjet cleaner to clean the nozzle where the cartridge sits, this should clean the mechanism sufficiently to allow the printer to detect the cartridge.

I HAVE NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPENING THE CARTRIDGE COVER ON MY EPSON rx595 PRINTER AND CHANGING THE CARTRIDGES.

Make sure you have a new ink cartridge before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones.
Follow the steps below to replace one or more ink cartridges that are expended:
  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. If a cartridge is low or expended, you see a message on the display screen. Note which cartridges need to be replaced and press OK.
  3. Open the scanner, then open the cartridge cover.
  4. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift it up. Dispose of it carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it.
  5. Remove the cartridge from the package, but be careful not to touch the green chip on the edge.
  6. Remove the yellow tape from the bottom of the ink cartridge.

Caution: Do not remove any other labels or seals, or ink will leak.

  7. Insert the new ink cartridge into the holder and push it down until it clicks into place.
  8. Once you replace all the cartridges that need replacing, close the cartridge cover and push it down until it clicks into place.
  9. Close the scanner.
  10. Press OK to begin charging the ink. This takes about 2 minutes. When you see a completion message on the display screen, ink charging is finished.
Caution: To conserve ink, never turn off the printer while ink is charging. If you see an ink replacement message on the display screen, press OK and press down all the cartridges securely

Epson photo r280

Hello stellasafo, and to all of you that have Epson R280, RX580(mine),rx595(mine), rx620 and similar RX's, plus CX700F's.
If you get a NEW CARTRIDGE that your printer SAYS its EMTPY here's what you need to do to fix this problem:
You need to reset the cartridge's printhead chipset by reinstalling the cartridge. You can do this by :

PRESSING SETUP ON THE PRINTER, SELECT MAINTENANCE, PRESS OK,THEN SELECT CHANGE INK CARTRIDGE, PRESS OK, THEN PULL THE CARTRIDGE OUT , THEN WAIT 1 MINUTE, THEN REINSTALL THE CARTRIDGE PRESSING FIRMLY UNTIL YOU HERE IT CLICK BACK IN TO PLACE,THEN PRESS OK, YOUR PRINTER SHOULD THEN GO THRU A CHARGING CYCLE AND THEN AFTER ABOUT ANOTHER MINUTE IT SHOULD TELL YOU ITS DONE. AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO.

I have also had times that just turning it off, actually I unplugged it too, waited a minute and then plugged it back in and turned it back on and it was fixed.
There is also a troubleshooting guide in you maintenance program with some good tips also and a phone number for more help. Just click the help button until you get to a page that ask " what were you doing when the problem occurred"
Hope this helps.

RX595 Printer error has occurred

After going through the on/off thing for a while, I noticed that most of the paper in the loader had been sucked in and assumed that might be the problem. I thought that would explain the bad sound too. I also unplugged the printer while it was off for a couple of seconds and the problem went away. Hope this helps someone.

My cannon pixma mp800 does not recognize the cyan ink cartridge, which is brand new.

I had same problem with yellow ink cartridge. After going thru other suggestions I found on different forums that didn't work (turning printer off and on, cleaning contacts with alcohol, taking out and putting cartridge back in several times) I finally called Canon as my printer was still under 1yr warranty, and they sent me a brand new cartridge free of charge and it works great now (even though my cartridge that was giving error mssg was almost brand new too). I think they have a lot of lemon cartridges out there.
