Monitor come on for a few seconds then goes black, green signal light stay on green. can you help

the monitor may be losing the back lite. take a flash light or bright light and shine it at the screen after it goes black. can you see a faint picture? if so the back lite has failed. usually the cost of replacement exceeds the cost of a new monitor but there are a couple of web sites that detail the replacement of the "ccfl" cold cathode flouresecent light.

Was cleaning my mouse and the screen is now having a pink/purple background. How do I fix to go back to the great colors showing as before

This is probably to do with the cables coming loss, push thecables at the back of the monitor into their housing, see if than changes the coulors.

The cables may also be loss at the back of the machine, check this by pushing the cable that runs from your monitor into your PC backinto its housing.

Screen comes on then goes off after 5 seconds

You may have power supply DC filter caps problem or the back light inverter circuits, need to inspect the inside.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I suspect your Computers Display settings need adjustments and or a Driver from Proview installed...therefor if you can get on the net, I would look at FAQ's on Proviews Website, i.e:

hope that helps,

Beware this monitor! PL713s

Probably a good solution. 17" LCD's are pretty inexpensive these days and probably cost as much to diagnose and fix this one. You can purchase on-line as well. www.tigerdirect.com www.newegg.com Good luck
