The fan on the left side of the chassis has either failed or is running slow. They do however get quite a lot of dust and c--p on them and that can slow them down. Remove the left side cover and clean the fan. If that does not cure it then a new one is required. The part number and description are: 43289101 OR-Motor-FAN(80). Any OKI dealer should be able to get it for you.

It can be a failed motor or if the bearings are dry or worn it can make the rotor stick..Try and see if you can wobble the fan left and right, if it wobbles a lot replace the fan..if its a bit tight to turn you can put a DROP of oil on the bearing fron the non fan blade side (remove the sticker) But prob replace the fan as they are cheap..

The electronic touch control has fallen inside the hood this is the second time it has happened is there a plastic mounting bracket on the switch that has broken? left side of switch I can see a mounting...

Yep! This is a classic problem with the Therador PHE series hoods. Very weak design and NO help from the factory! Just the plastic housing is $82.00 bucks online. The panel is REALLY hard to access and the control boards, inside, fail regularly. The board alone costs over $200.00 bucks! These will fail to switch on the fan or change fan speeds or turn lights on and off or fan off. All of this randomly and arbitrarily so people tend to push the switch buttons too hard, causing the bracket to fail and entire panel body falling off inside. We have had ours propped up inside with two chop sticks for several years now and to get the fan to switch on or change speeds we fiddle with the chop sticks while repeatedly pushing the buttons and sooner or later it comes on. The lights rarely will come on, however. This unit is made by Bosch and they have all the same problems with NO fix except to replace ENTIRE control panel at a cost of $350.00 retail. This is truely an example of modern, fancy kitchen appliance over-engineered ripoff junk. Looks great but it makes sure that the fool who buys into the Brand name and cool design gets to pay and pay again for their naivete'.

The dreaded blinking lights

It can be saved, but you need to determine the fan that is bad. Looking at the set from the rear, on the left side you will see a series of baffles. Shine a light in there and you will see a fan. Have someone turn on the power and watch this fan. If it doesn't turn, there is your culprit. This is the most likely fan to fail. Please be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!

Fan or motor contantly running and howeling

It really sounds like you need to replace the evaporator fan motor if it sounds like an a/c fan (if it sounds cyclic, metal on metal, screeching, or even like a light aircraft then the bearings are probably failed). The only addition I would make to this is when checking the fan motor with the back cover off you check for any undue ice build up on the coil which may be causing the howling (TO RULE THIS OUT). Hope this helps.
