Question about Nvidia GeForce 6600 Graphic Card

1 Answer

XP Service pack 3 will not boot with NVidia Geoforce 6600 drivers

Hi I recently bought a Forsa Geforce 6600 AGP Graphics card with 256 megs ram. I istalled the card and booted windows and the card seemed to work fine in it's limited ability mode. I installed the drivers and rebooted. The computer seems to boot fine showing the XP logo and welcome screens and then goes blank and actually cuts signal to the screen until the screen goes into standby mode and then the screen reboots after some minutes and gives me a blue screen which pops up for a second saying something about loop ing the Nvidia driver and performing a memory dump and then begins to restart windows.(way to quick to see what it actually says and memorise it.
I have installed the latest Nvidia Driver same problem, I have updated my Chipset drivers, I have updated my webcam Drivers. Nothing seems to solve the problem.

The exact same thing happens to me... I have disabled the onboard vga and bought a new 450W power supply. I installed it on a friends PC and does the exact same thing. I got an old driver and it boots up now at least but when playing a game (CS source) the system freezes sometimes and just restarts. Im sick of Nvidia. My Radeon never gave any problems.!!

There's a chance that your screen resolution is set higher than your monitor can handle. Try booting into safe mode and see if you can resolve the problem. You may also have to configure the BIOS to use the expansion slot that your using for the primary video, and turn the integrated (on-board) one off. (If you haven't already done so)

Did you try setting your screen resolution higher? That also may be the cause of your problem. There's also a chance that your power supply isn't a high enough wattage to handle your video card. Check your video card documentation and see what it recommends for voltage requirements.

HELLO THERE
You may want to boot into bios and see if the video display is set to agp or pci and change it from their than save and reboot and if that does not help boot into the safe mode and uninstall the update and if needed reinstall the card,,, geforce has been having a problem with these updates and depending on your operating system it can be non compatable so, please try these solutions ok

try downloading " Driver Magician ". This searches for and updates all drivers on your system. There is a small fee for registration but this has been a God-send for me.

Game graphical error

Wierd, I had this problem once, updating my driver simply fixed it. Do this: 1) Remove all nvidia products and drivers from your computer. 2) Reboot computer of course. 3) Go to Nvidi'as website and download the correct latest driver for your graphics card. 4) Reboot again. 5) Go test the game.

Did you try installing and updating the driver of the graphics card dedicated to the operating system "VISTA" ? Sometimes there is some difference between vista's driver and XP's driver.
