Not sure what you are referring to--if no suction or weak check for blockages from head to air filter--also look to see if filter clear and clean, foam ones can usually be removed and washed and paper ones have to be replaced.

Brush works intermittedly - I've looked at the common solutions listed but none seem to work...shaking it & reseating the canister will get it working again sometimes but obviously that doesn't seem to...

I just had the same problem. I would turn on the vac, and it worked fine. When I turned on the brush it would work for a few seconds then shut off. Through troubleshooting I found out it had nothing to do with a bad power connection. By chance I took off the side HEPA filter to see how it looked. I realized that I have never changed it and that it was filthy. I removed it and turned on the vac, then the brush. It took a few tried, but the brush motor got back to full strength. I reassembled everything and it works fine now. It seems that the clogged filter was causing the brush motor to shut off. I'm running my vac w/o the HEPA filter while i wait for a new one to ship. Hope its the same prob for you!

you generally dont clean hepa filters .. you replace them .. temporarily you can tap them on the driveway to loosen up the big particles .. but the filter normally is replaced ... there are some filters that are washable in hot soapy water .. but hepa filters are normally not ..

HEPA FILTER REMOVAL

the filter should be easily accessable on the right side of the vacum cleaner if it's facing you. at the base of the vacum there is a large round cover that is removable and behind it it the filter. generally you dont need to replace it. its a big round spunge that you could rinse with water and squeeze out until it's clean. you also need to rinse the filter cover which is like a plastic netting. let it dry for 24 hours and you should be good to go!
enjoy!

your intake hose is clogged.its the clear hose that comes up from the bottom and up the backside of ther vacuum.take the screws out that hold the hose connector on and then take a coat hanger and bend the tip so it is round then work it down into the intake hose.you might be able to push the clog out the bottom

WindTunnel HEPA Filter won't spin

I just fixed my HEPA filter not rotating!!

It involves taking apart the vacuum HEPA area. All screws are the same size. There are a LOT of 'em. Really straightforward putting it back together too.

ok, once you take the HEPA canister area off the vacuum, careful with the wires! Unplug them from the controller board. You open up the HEPA chamber by removing more screws until you see where the motor that turns the filter is mounted on the side. Remove motor from the green chamber. Note where the washer goes. Once the motor is off, you'll see that the center hub that drives the HEPA filter is rounded out. What I did was jam little bits of aluminum from a pop can into the space between the circle and the square to force the walls back to square. I started by folding a little piece of aluminum over and over so it was about three layers thick. Jammed that in. That wasn't quite enough thickness so I shoved another piece with it. If you can find something that is about 4 times the thickness of a pop can aluminum, that'd probably work too. Slight wedge shape on the tip would help. Any sort of tiny shim.

To test your work, just put a couple of holder screws into the HEPA cannister housing, plug in the cover/switch, plug in the HEPA moter. Turn it on for a few seconds to make sure the filter turns. Then you can add more thickness to the hub or put things back together.

Hoover Z-400 - Hepa Filter

These filters should be changed at least once a year, they get clogged up and won't clean out. So I would try a new filter and go from there, make sure there are no clogs in the hose and down below where the dirt inlet is.
