The red flashing light might indicate and error with your PS3 console just follow this step to reset your console. This might help,
Press down the power button, you will hear one beep, keep pressing then, the second beep will sound twice. From there it will prompt you to the reset screen.
Try plugging something like a dvd or vcr into those ports of the TV, that will tell you if the tv is reading the PS3 wrong or the video is dead on your TV.
Plug only the video plug (yellow) to the TV. Turn on the backswitch. When the red light in front is on, put your finger on the on/off button in front AND KEEP IT THERE. You will hear some beeps; don't worry about that. Keep your finger on the button until the front power light goes red again. This resets the PS3 video settings. Turn the PS3 on and the TV should pick up the signal.
Next, turn the PS3 off so the red light is on. Hold down the power button on the PS3 until you hear a beep. Release the power button and press it again. That should have reset the video settings so you will be able to set the resolution again.
You need to
have the motherboard fixed, do to so you need to take the PS3 apart then reflow
the board. there is a
great 6part video guide on YouTube to view for free. 6 videos from the same
fellow, each video about 10mins long, goes over everything for you. http://www.youtube.com/user/gilksy1 and its free
unlike some eBook site. I actually
used the videos shown by this guy to fix about 30 PS3 units with no problems,
you just need a few things though like a heat gun and some thermal paste.
sounds hard, but it's very easy once you start! Hope this
helps in some way.
try this:
it works for slimline PS2. might work for PS3.
1) turn off PS3
2) unplug PS3 and wait a minute or two before plugging back in.
3) turn on PS3
hi..Seems like your Power Supply went dead or either a faulty button..
Since those are touch pads those sometimes wear out. Another issue
could be due to overheating..
if you have moved your ps3 to a different tv or something, the video setting can get messed up, thus having to reset the video settings. here are a few steps to do so.
1. put your finger on the reset button and wait until the ps3 is in standby. (Keep holding your finger on it, don't let go)
2. turn off the ps3 completely by switching off the power switch (make sure your still holding your finger on the reset button)
3. turn your ps3 back on (while still holding the reset button) and you will hear a beep. keep holding the reset button until you hear a second beep. let go of the reset button as soon as you hear the second beep
this should reset the video of your ps3. ive done this to my ps3 before because when i was installing linux i almost screwed up my ps3. when i turned on my ps3 no picture or sound would appear. so i called sony and this is what they told me to do and it worked.
when u connect ps3 to your tv turn on main switch now red led will come on press and hold touch button ps3 will come on keep your finger on the button and ps3 will turn off again factory settings are now reloaded this will work because i often change from standard v to hd tv
WHEN YOU START YOUR PS 3, KEEP YOUR FINGER ON THE START BUTTON UNTIL YOU EAR A SECOND BEEP ( BETWEEN 5 & 10 SECONDS); THIS WILL RESET AND SELECT THE RIGHT CONNECTION . I HAD TO FIND THIS PROBLEM WHEN WE WERE SWITCHING FROM THE LIVING ROOM TO MY KID'S ROOM.
