Dimplex Bach electric fire (BCH20). The fire effect motor makes a knocking noise. Is it easier to replace the motor or can it be fixed by placing rubber insulators to the metal frame? Many thanks in advance.

I wanted an answer to this too. It was hard to find, but here we go.
Get hold of a torch, and look closely at the decorative surround at the bottom of the fire. There are two screws hidden in there, on each side! See below:




Unscrew these, and you can take the front off, and get at the bulbs.

For information, the fire takes two screw in bulbs, described as 240V – 60W E14 SES Clear Candle Lamps.

Not uncommon for those little motors to wear out. Easiest thing to do is go to connection at wiring connector to motor, and test for voltage there. If voltage is there, then I'd replace the motor.
