Question about Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player

Philips GoGear SA3245 not playing converted videos

So basically, I used DVDshrink to make a copy of a DVD onto my hard drive. Then, I used the ArcSoft MediaConverter and used the "Add DVD" function on the Video_files of the DVD copy on my hard drive. The movie plays fine during the preview functino on the MediaConverter. The whole thing converts fine and goes onto my Philips GoGear fine. Then, I play it on my GoGear and it starts up the now playing screen but the screen is black and the time at the bottom is accurate (start and end time) but the current time is 0:00 before the screen reverts back to the video list. The videos never play, no matter how small or how big!!! That was a mouthful....Please help!!!

I have somewhat the same problem. In my case the files I convert play in a start-stop mode and I just can't watch a movie like that. However it can't be true that the player is only for 15-minute chunks. The media converter that goes with the installation CD says that it converts whole dvds. And it's true in my case. I have converted whole dvds. They are just not properly converted as far as my case is concerned.

Get the updated version of the Arcsoft Media Converter from www.usasupport.philips.com. Even so, you will need to split the video into 15-minute chunks, and convert the smaller chunks. This player is really for shorter, YouTube-style videos.

Philips GoGear SA3245 (4 GB) Digital Media Player Can I download songs form I Tunes to this device?

You can download music for the GoGear from any reputable website, iTunes. it is just a case of plugging in the USB cable, go to My Computer and Look for the Philips Removable Drive.

open it up, go to the Music Folder and add your MP3 songs.

To add videos to this player you need to use the software Philips provided. It's a bit complicated to use so follow the instructions carefully. The software will convert the videos to a Philips format to enable you to add them to the Video Folder. You can't just add a file as this will not work, it needs to be converted.
Hope this helps you.

Not able to play video in philips gogear pls suggets

Hello,

Media players need the matching video format: for GoGear Vibe it is SMV.
To convert video from AVI to SigmaTel Motion Video, use the Media Converter Software from the manufacturer. For the videos you'd like to convert, be sure to update video codecs in Windows Media Player 10 or higher.

Vibe players have different display sizes, so you'll need the matching Converter for your player.
When you have the United States version SA5285/37 next site gives all support, including the Arcsoft video converter:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=SA5285/37&slg=en&scy=US
note
There's and update for the Arcsoft converter, for downloading directly YouTube films:
click on EXTRAS at the top right hand corner of the Arcsoft main screen.
At the pull down menu click UPDATE AND PATCHES, Arcsoft will check
and let user download and install the updated Stream Ripper feature
( streaming videos need flv video codec )

How/where to download movies

I have a Phillips go Gear myself. You need the media converter for phillips software for it. It takes any file and converts it to a Phillips specific file for your player. The disk came with my player but if you would like to download the software you can find it here: http://www.arcsoft.com/products/mediaconverter/

How do you put videos onto an 8gb gogear philips mp3 player?

You have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert and transfer video files to the Philips GoGear. Because the software likes to play a preview of the movie, you may have to download additional codecs to make it work. Copyright-protected or DRM-encrypted video files are not compatible with the GoGear.

Dvd doesnt download onto my philips sa3245/37

Use a free program such as Riva FLV Encoder to convert your DVD file to AVI format. Once it is in AVI format, then run it through the Philips Media Converter - should work like a champ after that.

Dvd does not play

Three problems - the Media Converter will not correctly convert videos over 15 minutes long, it will not recognize the DVD's file structure, and it cannot play copyright-encrypted video files. This player is more for YouTube-style videos. Here is a workaround:
1) Use video editing software to break the DVD file into 15-minute chunks
2) Run the chunks through Riva FLV Encoder - convert it to AVI format, and make sure sound is enabled
3) Run the Riva-converted chunks through the Philips Media Converter
4) You can now watch your movie in 15-minute chunks - I hope you chose filenames that allow the files to be played in sequential order

Have fun!
