Question about Sony VAIO VGN-SZ330P/B Notebook

Open Question

VGN-SZ330P No Audio/Sound Card device shows up in Device Manager

I have a Sony VGN-SZ330p and after taking apart the laptop to replace the broken CPU fan, the laptop no longer shows the sound/audio device in device manager. Thus, there is no sound. I put in a new hard drive and restored Windows Vista and installed all audio drivers from Sony website. But after restarting, there is still no audio device. Can someone explain what/where on the motherboard the audio device is located and if there is a cable/wire that needs to be connected to another area (like daughter card to the main board).

My problem with my Sony VGN-SZ330P is the fan, it producing some loud noises, sounds like its grinding something

You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced.
