Question about Vacuums
If hair etc bound to roller look for and remove that--make sure using correct belt and where it engages shaft the end is clean (black belt residue will cause belt to slip and early failure).

I took the side plastic protectors off because my brushes stopped working. I found one belt almost broken (held together by the fiber to the interior) and when I moved the brush rollers, I found mucho dog hair on the ends. Your rollers might be removed and see if you have the same problem. IT just takes two screws on each end to do this, so if your belts are good, take a look at each end where the metal post goes into it. I have two dogs and their hair is just everywhere!

The reason for the brushes to stop when it is above any surface is there is a switch in the handle that stops the brushes so it dont burn your motor up it may have a faulty switch.
