Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Eee PC's use Windows XP and Linux, if you tried Vista on one it would almost kill it :P

If it is Windows XP, restart it. When it turns on keep presing the F8 Key until it asks you to Choose between Safe Mode etc.

Choose Safe mode. When it starts up, click the Administrator Account. From there you can change your password.

SOURCE: I've forgotten my password for Asus Eee PC 4g

One of the advantage of any Linux OS is its tough security. Im afraid you have to reprogram you machine so that you can use it,  . and then maybe later you run a File Recovery software so that you can latter on recover your important files.

There is NO reset button, the simple thing to do, is to get a USB, to DVD dongle, hook up a DVD, pop in the DVD supplied, and it will restore itself, from boot up, First you must go into BIOS and set to boot from USB drive, and set to install in menu. then save settings and reboot, then it will boot from DVD and reinstall the OS.

SOURCE: When windows live essentials tries to update my

Hello,
Have you tried the offline installer? This issue isn't only found on the Asus EeePC. I have have others with the same issues. What I'm going to get you to do is completely remove Live Essentials by going to your Control Panel and (XP) add / remove programs or (Vista / Win7) programs and settings, scroll the list and highlight the Live essentials installer and press remove.
Once done, reboot your PC then download the Live Essentials offline installer for your operating system and try installing: XP: download here Vista/Win7: download here
Once downloaded, if you are on Vista or Win 7, right click the download file and press run as administrator. Windows XP, just double click the file to start the install.
Regards, Chris

I won't go into why not storing important passwords somewhere is a FAIL. You already know the answer.
Get the ASUS restore disk and boot to it. Format and install the OS again.
Passwords are a security device. If it was possible to just ask FIXYA how to beat your password what good was it in the first place?

Forgot netbook password

If you have forgotten your Windows pass word, you cannot get into windows.
You will need to format your drive with a new OS or use the services of a professional to copy off your files and data to a USB stick or external HD, for restoration to your new system.

How do you restore a asus eeepc notebook 1001ha/1005 series

Turn it off. And as it turns on press F2. Then it will prompt for the advance option then press F8. When the menu comes up press "repair my computer". choose the restore to factory. Make sure you back up files that you want to keep. Caution: Make sure you charge the laptop full and keep it plugged in. If the there is a power failure and your laptop runs out of battery, it would mess things up.

Take the battery out, leave it unplugged for a day or so... usually resets the bios for me. Sometimes though, you might have to manually unplug the cmos battery as well, that involves opening the system.
