Also, the brightness stays at 100, even when lowering it it self adjusts back up to 100.

HI there,
You problem seems to be related to the of control push buttons. Some of them are probably loosing its functionality and react as they are pushed. It is a common problem. They need to be replaced, but i strongly suggest qualified persoal to do it if you are not familiar with electronic. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Samsung 214t syncmaster flickering

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswill blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts calledcapacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you aregood at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should workfine. We just posted a repair guide showing how to remove the case ansreplace the parts. The capacitors do need to be installed with thecorrect + and -connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one thesame way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

SOURCE: my monitor 940n samsung syncmaster gone in black...

I have just had this same problem. The problem mostlikely is a blown fuse on the inverter board. Mine was blown on the board and also a Capacitor (470nF/25V) was bad beside the Fuse.

I replaced both and monitor is working now again. After install the picture was a little grainy with little artifacts. In another post i found that the Power Supply board needs to be cleaned for unwanted residue. After that picture was fine again.

BEWARE that you need a soldering iron and a steady hand to replace these parts. If you are unfamiliar with soldering at all have an expert take a look at this. The Power boards uses 220v so DO NOT connect it to the Power when opened.

Hi, I bought my samsung 2333 syncmaster in the U.S. but moved to New Zealand where the voltage is 230, can I use the monitor with a converter plug or with a NZ compatible cord?

Samsung 2333 have switching power supply and it can work from 100-240VAC 50/60Hz with out any modification or adaptors. Feel free to use it in USA or New Zealand. You need only to arrange plug converter. Check specifications on Page 49 of 2333SW user's manual available on: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/201694/Samsung-Syncmaster-2333sw.html?page=11#manual Samsung SyncMaster 2333SW User Manual Your Monitor Initial Settings
