Get 'file permission error' when I try to save in Word.
I have a Cruzer 2GB flash drive that at first worked fine when I saved items. Now I'm getting the error message that it cannot save due to a file permission error. What can I do? This is the second flash drive to do this.

This error means you dont have suffecient priviledges to save. It sounds like you need to be logged into an Administrator account. If you are, Right click the icon for the flash drive, And click Run As Administrator

if you mean put files on it. you go to start--my computer and look for the drive that is your usb. likely named sandisk. double click on it so that the drive folder opens. select the item you want to put on the usb stick. left click on it and hold down the button. drag the item to the usb folder and release the mouse button. it will copy the file to the drive.
if you mean downloading from the internet. when it asks you to save the file. browse to the usb drive and click save.
I would recommend plugging your Cruzer into another computer. It's possible that your computer has corrupted or incorrect drivers for the flash drive. This is one cause of the yellow alert in Device Manager. If you move the flash drive to another machine and it works, you can save your data and make a backup copy. If your Cruzer doesn't work in a different computer (I would try at least 2 other working computers), it's possible that the flash drive is faulty.
This seems to occur when used on different computers (especially if using sync software) and seems to occur if a drive is removed when Word (or whatever) is still open. I saved the files with an a at the end to resolve it. Always use the safe disconnect option in the taskbar
